By cutting off the funding? If not, why not?

1. You mean the incoming war with Iran, or the one we're in with Iraq?
Excellent question either way.

7. Or the war with Afghanistan? Or the war on the environment?
Please...you have to be SPECIFIC about your wars when referring to the Bush** Junta.

2. Nope. Because they are beholden to the very same powers that the
Repugs are.

Unless they are willing to thoroughly and utterly repudiate the whole military/multi-national corporate/oil company/security state complex (fat chance), then they will go along with whatever the shadow government wants.

6. Bingo
Well said. This is easily seen with the latest efforts to convince us that the thing that Bush did wrong was to not send ENOUGH troops to Iraq. In addition, Hillary, the acknowledged front runner is on record as supporting the invasion and occupation.

3. I often wonder if DUers will protest the war if it is still going on
Edited on Mon May-08-06 08:48 PM by jonnyblitz
under a DEM president, if they will march with anti -whomever signs and slogans or if they will, all of a sudden, make excuses for the war and/or remain silent due to party loyalty.

this is a tad off topic but I have been thinking about this for some time.

4. I think so
There are so many ideas for stopping the war and alot come from moderate to conservative Democrats. If we win in November, troops could start coming home at the end of 2007.

5. They had better!
I think you have a lot more faith in the unnamed conservative Dems than I. There are plenty of hawkish Dems who are more than happy to crawl into bed with GE, Lockheed-Martin, Boeing, and their ilk and roll in that filthy lucre. We shall see though, I have been disappointed before, so I suppose that I have come to expect it.
