QUESTION: What I really want...is to work in liberal/progressive activism

as a career. i'm not looking for big bucks. i just want the focus of my work to have meaning.

i have a master's in journalism and campus organizing experience-does anyone have suggestions where i can take it?

at the NATION! There are several really wonderful mags. If you are good at linguistics we need a liberal KKarl Rove!

Since you have campus organizing experience, you could try the Young Democrats of America, either their national site or your regional site may be looking for people.

Or if you have an interest in particular causes, check out their web sites. For instance, one of my interests is environmental causes so one of the places I could go to is the Wilderness Society site and see what they are looking for http://www.wilderness.org/AboutUs/careers.cfm?TopLevel=Careers&source=hpb

The problem with progressive causes is that everyone is so segmented that you have to do a lot of searching just to find the kind of organization in which you would like to work.
