UPDATE: OK, this is truly bizarre. My local paper, <http://www.vnews.com/ The Valley News>, although putting "Impeachment Tops Agenda" on their front page headline, doesn't reference it online, instead choosing to highlight the local issues of the town hall meeting. Why is this paper censoring itself? Can anyone else out there confirm for the Kossacks that I'm not just making this up? I still see no reference yet in the Boston Globe or AP.

By a vote of 111 to 42, the residents of Hanover, New Hampshire became the first people in the Live Free or Die State to approve a petition calling for the impeachment of President Bush and VP Cheney over the illegal and unconstitutional NSA spying program.

Some choice Valley News snippets from last night's town meeting:

"If we remain silent in the face of willful violation of the law, we fail both the Constitution and ourselves," said petition author Jerry King, who received applause after speaking in support of the measure.

1. I wonder how many towns in the U.S. did this during Clintons
term. I think a fair guess is...none.

Go VT, show us the way!

3. Both Bush and Cheney as well
However NH has two Republicans congressmen and two Republican senators, so waht does this story mean in reality except that it FEELS GOOD.
