The Corporate Media are not whores, and I can prove it.
Bushco is now at a 65% disapproval rating. Therefore, if the media were simple whores pandering to the lowest-common-denominator of public opinion, they would already be trumpeting the liberal line, calling for health care reform, raising the min. wage, getting out of Iraq, saving the environment, etc.

The fact that they are doing none of these things stands as clear proof that they are not whores, but are instead concubines, wholly owned by and serving the perverted interests of the Fascist ruling class.

6. If It Was About Ratings, We'd Be Seeing SCANDAL SCANDAL SCANDAL
They could have people glued to their sets investigating all the scandals of the Bush** administration.

As Molly Ivins said, "Any journalist who claims Hookergate is not a legitimate scandal is dead—has been for some time and needs to be unplugged."

8. And that is another excellent point--sort of a corollary to mine.
The claim that they went after Clinton because "sex sells" and didn't touch the Bushie lies or Plamegate because they're "too compiclated" is exploded right there. Apparently Democratic blowjobs sell but Puggy homosexual prostitution rings just aren't very interesting.

7. Indeed, they blow, but they don't blow with the wind
Edited on Wed May-10-06 02:04 PM by kenny blankenship
"right now the prevailing wind is blowing from Vichy", but the press have been selected for their ideological compliance, and so when the wind changes direction, should it ever change direction, they'll still do their best for the Fuhrer, for Fascism and the Fatherland.
