This NSA phone records thing...what about cell phones?
I tried calling Sprint but the customer service rep couldn't find anything about who controls the long distance, then transferred me to another department who then directed me to a phone number that put me right back to the Sprint customer service.

Damn, I just want a simple question answered. Anybody know how it works with cell phones, or :tinfoilhat: are they just giving me the runaround 'cause they're aware of what's going on and don't want to answer for their brazen violation of my rights?

4. Yes, I don't have the link but I read where VONTAGE
will have to cooperate with NSA (fork over our calls) beginning next year.

Anyone "in the know" on this issue?

11. I saw a commercial last night regarding wireless TV (as in cable
channels, PPV, local, sports.) whatever you want to pay for I suppose. I know we have had antennae TV on those little models, but I don't think we have had anything powerful enough for us to use it on our home TVs. Am I just behind the times because this sounded new to me? :hippie:

I'm searching for a new one. Anyone have any leads on a company that is at least making some kind of stand against handing over records??

10. tracking calls
Unless your phone contains an encryption chip which scrambles the signal then yes your cell phone can be listened to quite easily. When Tom Clancy wrote "A Clear and Present Danger" back in 1989 he explained that the NSA had this capability to do so. When a company or a person applies for a patent concerning any type of encrypting software or hardware the NSA immediately will seek to block the patent on the grounds of National Security. They do not want anybody to have capability to hide their conversations. Just think of the NSA as one giant microwave dish that has a huge answering machine.

12. It would be nice if everyone
would start calling their phone company and tell them if they don't stop giving our records to the government, we will have them disconnected.
