See, now that you've lied to us about checking out our phone conversations
....you've now got to PROVE that you're not doing the same with our e-mail, examining our Internet visits, looking through our unshaded bathroom and bedroom windows with satellites, etc. etc.

Because, great leader, all of those things might be necessary for national security, right? RIGHT???

And all you f***in' lurking freepers who say this kind of data monitoring is all right, then please explain how any other kind of surveillance is wrong if your godly and glorious leader says it's necessary for national security. Please explain that. Please! Would you really be okay with satellite photos being taken of your private doings if you neglected to pull down the shade? But then most of you are so scared sh*tless by the Boogedy-Man that you probably keep your shades down and doors deadbolted all the time anyway. So I guess you really DON'T have to worry about that. Thanks for continuing to acquiesce in the removal of our American liberties, you cowardly traitors. But don't worry, we'll win them back with absolutely no help from you wusses. Now go hide under your beds!

1. You know what just slays me?
It's the irony.

Back during the 80's and 90's, these were the same tinfoil-wearin', alt.conspiracy postin' yahoos who were just sure that Democrats were going to chip them, issue national ID cards and spy on everything with huge databases.

Now, the repukes have made this come to pass and these self-same yahoos can only say "But he's a godly man!" and defend him.

It's has to be the irony. And the amazement that these yahoos can draw a breath on their own.

Cluestick for yahoos: The Dems have never done anything like this. Ever.

Hang your heads in shame.

4. Exactly! If a Democratic president had instituted this same program...
Edited on Thu May-11-06 03:54 PM by elaineb
...can't you just sense the cold, naked fear they'd be displaying? I'm sure they think this teeny-weeny little invasion of their privacy will be magically stopped before the Democrats take control of the government again. And, oh yeah, that day is coming, sweethearts. And you know what's so funny? If you Repubs don't get YOUR congresspersons to make it clearly and unmistakeably illegal NOW, while you're in power, it just might not get "taken care of" by the Democrats later. Can you imagine? The power's all in THEIR hands to avert what they most desperately fear. Better get crackin' on that soon, Shrub worshippers! Time runneth out!

2. Exactly Elainb
As I have said before that if this admin. intel agencies are so inept that they have to go through millions of U.S. citizens' phone calls to get a clue as to what Osama and Al Queda (sp?) are doing then we are in deep sh-t.

3. The GOP sell out of America comes down to one simple little fact:
Bush** is one of them. If he were a Dem, they'd have burned down the WH and hung him already.

5. I don't think they are looking for terrorists, I think they are stealing
commercial secrets, industrial espionage so they can make MO MONEY when they've been chased out of town with pitchforks!

7. Anything is possible with Bush**
Just the fact that they haven't managed to arrest a terrorist using this method over the course of five or so years suggests that at the very least it's a waste of time and (our) money. You can bet they're profiting in some way from it though, or they would have quit collecting the data long ago.

Welcome to DU.

8. And explain why it took you so long to hand over
"our records" of the times that Jeffy G. and Abbieoff entered "OUR HOUSE" for visits.

Those records belong to US!

9. I'm sick of these people being so willing to hand over MY civil
liberties. If they want to open up their private dealings to the government, they are welcome to. But I want them to quit saying it's okay to usurp MY liberties. That is not something they, or anyone else (i.e. Bush) has any right to take or give away.
