FREEPERS WHO THINK THE PHONE DATABASE IS FINE AND DANDY
Just for a brief moment (and I mean brief), I'll go along with you and say, sure, it's ok, I've got nothing to hide as I have done nothing illegal over the phone or internet. Now, picture 2008, the NSA domestic spy program has been fully legalized by Congress and blessed by Democrats, who, to no one's surprise, take back the Whitehouse. Now, imagine this Democratic president doing things you expect a liberal to do. Raise taxes on the wealthy (I can hear the cursing under your breath), raising the minimum wage to $9/hour (more cursing and swearing), improving the INS so legalized immigration is streamlined and immigrants flood the country (now your really pissed and issuing veiled threats on FreeRepublic and over the phone to your cousin Billy-Bob... WOOPS... there's a knock on your door, it's the Secret Service here to arrest you...uh oh, looks like you went a little too far in your "criticism" of the Democratic President... you've got some 'splaining to do.... at Gitmo.... and instead of a Bible, they give you a Koran,... and when you flush it down the toilette, they force you to watch Queer Eye for a Straight Guy 24/7 blasting at 120 decibels... and you never get a lawyer, or a trial, .... and on and on...

Get the picture? Too bad you Freepers are too damn stupid to recognize who the U.S. Constitution was setup to protect.

1. Yes, and just imagine if the Catholics got in charge, or the
Hispanics, or the Gays, or the Vegans, or the... Get the picture? You Mr. and Mrs. Freep and we, Mr. and Ms. Du are always going to be "the people," but the guys in charge aren't always going to be in charge. Think about it. Kay?

2. I'm afraid they just don't have the mental capacity to see it...
Poor SOBs...They'll be the bottom 0.5% still approving of Bush no matter how low his poll #'s fall.

Their great leader over there, JimBob, wrote a scathing article about Bush during the primaries for the 2000 election (you can still dig it up online). But today, he's a BushBot no matter how bad it gets.

3. The whole point the dumbass..
.. freeptards is missing is simple to understand and simple to frame.

THIS DATABASE IS NOT ABOUT TERRORISM. PERIOD. IT WILL BE USED FOR OTHER PURPOSES, GUARANTEED, SINCE IT ISN'T ABOUT TERROR TO BEGIN WITH.

The government could easily get a warrant and get phone records of any suspected terrorist, and from those phone records anyone talking to that person a lot.

THIS DATABASE IS NOT ABOUT TERRORISM.

4. Gun Owners
So, if a database of all phone calls made is a good idea, then a database of all gun sales should be just fine too, right?

5. Even if they think the database is great, what about accuracy? We
moved across town recently and got a new phone number. Not sure who had it before, but judging by some of the the calls we get, it was a very interesting character...

7. Tapping phones isn't how you stop terrorism.
It's common sense. If one has bone brains, like way too many Americans (forgive me for being so rude), then yes it is how we are going to catch Osama. Osama calls time, we nab him. NOT. We stop meddling in the Middle East. That will stop terrorism, and nothing else will. I mean, if Iraqis were prancing all over America with guns, would we not be attempting to kick them in their nads? Come on people!

So once one knows that, one must ask why phones are being tapped. The question is WHY. The real answer is not terrorism. It's something else. Phones are being tapped for a sinister reason.

Haha- Bay Watch would do it for me. I just typoed that as Gay Watch.

10. The Freepers neighbor down the street.....The one he/she has been fighting
with for years cause he/she don't like your "W," bumper sticker or the latest CON campaign poster stuck in your yard, starts talking to a friend on the phone or e-mailing them and discussing the unusual, secretive, dark skinned (Arabs), visiting your house during the dark hours of early morning......this tale can be as imaginative as the "Liberal," mind has been accused of.

The Freepers reasoning, "If I have done nothing wrong, I have nothing to hide," is either to young to remember what J.Edgar Hoover did with his personal enemies list, using the private US citizens information from Federal records and telephone taps, or they have become to old and senile to remember........Ignorance can be fatal.

13. Or a simple mistake. Oops, wrong address.
Homeland Security thugs bust your door down. We don't need no stinkin' warrant. And you find yourself in jail along with those who are already there, and who are innocent.
There are innocent people in Gitmo. So just try to get out now, without access to an attorney.

Or any number of other things, which we aren't even aware of right now. This is why we have a Constitution. This is why we had a Revolution. So here we are again. King George.

12. Hey, freeps:Condi said you have no right to bear arms--she's making a list
and checking it twice...

"You can't have in a democracy various groups with arms - you have to have the state with a monopoly on power," Condoleeza Rice, the US secretary of state, said at the end of her two-day visit to Baghdad yesterday.

I bet she knows quite a bit about the warrantless surveillance program...

Rice denies illegal spying
16/12/2005 18:30 - (SA)

Washington - United States secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice, has denied US president George W Bush ordered illegal domestic spying.

However, she would not comment on reports that US phones and e-mails are monitored without court approval.

14. Well if they want to live in a country where the gov't spies on
their people, why don't they move to North Korea? Why do they hate our freedoms? Why do they hate America?

15. How would Freepers like it
Edited on Fri May-12-06 10:18 AM by C_U_L8R
if their medical records were released to their insurance company
or if their financial records were released to the IRS
or their phone calls with a recruiter released to their boss
or their conversation with an old love released to their present spouse
or ... or... or...
the potential for abuse is limitless

The thing that Freepers are too dense to understand AND
the reason these searches are illegal is that there is NO WARRANT.
And that is against the Constitution of this nation.
It is ILLEGAL, UNAMERICAN and IMMORAL

<<<ROOOOAAAAARRRRR>>>
