1. OK but most Americans can't remember who won last year's American Idol
Let alone anything historical. ;)

2. Be Careful
Be careful, because many fellow Democrats criticized Bush because he was focusing all of his time and effort on Iraq while Iran became more and more of a threat.

Unless you're talking about the fact that the war would be run by Dumbass Dubya, I think it'd be hypocritical for us to speak out against war on Iran.

3. I am absolutely against a war against Iran, as all progressives should.
THERE'S NO JUSTIFICATION FOR IT! NONE!!!

Don't tell me you're for another elective, unjustified, illegal war?

4. To stevietheman
You said: Don't tell me you're for another elective, unjustified, illegal war?

Hell no! I just mean that we should be careful lest we be accused of hypocrisy.

5. I don't think they're comparable at all. VERY different situations...
While both are acts of aggression, Poland was once part of a German Empire in the 19th Century. For Hitler, invading Poland was a test to see how the rest of Europe would react to German (re)expansion. And Poland isn't known for it's oil, but it does still have Jews despite Hitler's efforts. Iran is just a convenient pawn on the neocons masterplans for a New American Century. There's no historical basis for attacking Iran, no deep-rooted hatred for Persians, just a highly valuable exploitable resource that will become more scarce as the decades pass.

6. While it is true that parts of Poland had been part of Germany
before 1919, it is also true that Hitler had his eyes on re-acquiring the very productive coal fields of Polish Silesia.

7. I'm not so sure...
The Bush/Hitler comparisons may do okay, but a US/Nazi Germany comparison may do more harm than good, and it's easy to infer this from your slogan. IMHO even some people who are against the war will take offense to this broad generalization.
