An important question we're not asking candidates
Realistically, I don't suppose they can really answer without being tarred and feathered as soft-on-terror commie pinkos by the Bushzis, but I think it is something we seriously need to look at...Will any of these spy programs be dismantled or shut down merely because democrats take over? The government has put a massive infrastructure in place to spy on us, and we all know that except for FEMA and any agency designed to help Americans, the government isn't big on shutting itself down, only ever-expanding.

So can we expect, or even ask, any politician running for national office to pledge to return American to some semblence of "normal," and send the spies packing (or to jail, or whatever)?

I mean, I see no good coming of any of this. Sure, we might take the house and senate in 06 (I don't think we'll take either) but if we do, will anything really change? Won't the "war on terra" go on?

1. other important questions we're not asking candidates . . .
- Will you support a thorough investigation of election fraud, and help ensure that our electoral system is taken out of the hands of private corporations and returned to the people? . . .

- Will you work to end corporate control of the Congress and of elected officials? Will you refuse all corporate contributions to your campaign? . . .

- Will you support a full and impartial investigation of the events of 9/11/01? . . .

- Will you support a "Manhattan Project" type of initiative to develop alternative energy sources, reduce our energy consumption, and eliminate our reliance on foreign oil? . . .

- there are others, but that's a start . . .

2. We'd have those flying cars by now if they hadn't spent the $$$ on Iraq
Good point about the "Manhattan Project" initiative. They're all good points, but that one especially! It's so freakin' aggravating the money they've pissed away and we've got NOTHING for it.
