FREEPED (?) ABC News Poll re: NSA Spying: Majority OK With It
This morning on ABC's Good Morning America, I had a very difficult time believing their so-called "poll." It MUST have been freeped! They said that 66% of those polled said they had no problem with the NSA spying on their calls. Then they said 51% of people polled said Bush is doing a good job keeping our personal liberties and privacy in check!

I find that poll pure bullshit. It MUST have been freeped. Or are people really THAT naive?

1. I noticed the poll was done by a UK company
that seemed kind of weird to me..

also, couldn't find the method, margin of error, exact question, sampling size, etc, which also seemed wierd

smells like more bs from the bush loving corp media

4. There's the rub
It has zero credibility if it's not putting those things up for public view. Sounds unsurprisingly like a Bush Contracted Propoganda Poll.

5. I saw it and I'm pissed that they are attempting to sway public opinion
this way.

As in: "Oh, everybody thinks spying is okay, so I guess I do too." :grr:

I've totally had it with the propaganda and b.s.!

7. I think this is a kind of NIMBY mentality...
If the sheeple think this illegal wiretapping is o.k., it's probably because they think they will never be tapped because they are patriotic Americans with nothing to hide, and only real suspects will be spied on.

It's kind of like those people who claim a defendant in a trial is guilty because he wouldn't be there if he wasn't (believe me, I've sat on juries in trials and witnessed this kind of mindset!).

Tap their phone calls once and they'll change their minds!

8. Doesn't surprise me in the least.
Most Americans are too stupid to understand the implications of this activity. Most Americans have absolutely no concept of freedom. Hell, most Americans can't find Iraq on a world map. There is probably no one less qualified then the American people to determine what is and what is not acceptable from the government. This is why we have a Constitution. Unfortunately, the thugs who have hi-jacked our government have no intention of honoring the Constitution.

9. The poll keeps getting asked in a biased way (as is typical).
Another WSJ one I just saw gives the Bush administration position two options:

http://discussions.wsj.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=wsjvoices&nav=messages&msg=3888

To what degree should the government be allowed to monitor phone calls without court approval?

Any way it deems necessary
462 votes (22%)
Collect data but don't listen to conversations
417 votes (20%)
Not at all
1184 votes (57%)

Even so, they're losing.
