What is happening on C-SPAN?

I happened to flip the channel to C-SPAN because I saw someone saying that Byrd was speaking, and I see this crazy spectacle on TV.

It's some sort of immigration event. They are shouting back and forth. The crowd started cheering, "YOU FORGOT YOUR HOOD!" and the guy speaking says "thank you."

What the hell is this crap?

3. I don't know...

...the speaker was listed as the founder of the "Minuteman Project," and saying some crazy things about the protesters there.

Saying "thank you" when a crowd chants that you are part of the KKK? I guess I know all I need to know about the whole Minuteman deal now.

5. Minute Boy Rally

It is oddly fascinating, in a Hitlerian/Mussoliniesque sort of way. One old lady looks like Carol Channing without a wig. The talking points appear to be "veteran," "patriot," "anarchy (to the protestors)", and "religion." Oh, "treason" is right up in there. I haven't seen any swastikas or fasces yet, but there is still more to come. For a while I thought Gilcrest was being chanted to as "Duce" but apparently it wasn't. Now someone is calling people who are having children "immoral Mexicans". This is really weird.
