1. Still don't have a cell.
It's getting pretty inconvenient though -- since everyone else has one, they expect you to be reachable at all times.... we might have to cave and get one.

20. Ditto.
When I decide I want to be tracked I'll trot down to the local Fish and Wildlife office and have them bolt a tracking tag to my ear . . .

9. We have a seldom used land line.
My wife and I both worked in jobs that required a lot of phone use. Now retired, we look upon our phone as a necessary evil relieved by an answering machine that saves us from having to answer it.

26. Cell phones are evil, obnoxious things.
If the (affordable) personal computer + (not strictly academic + military) Internet is the greatest technological innovation of the past 25 years, then cell phones (or 'mobile phones', for non-USians) are the worst. I think of them as 'electronic leashes', and, in my opinion, they are responsible for a noticeable deterioration in etiquette and common courtesy; I've lost count of the number of times I've seen someone in a department store or grocery, babbling away on a cell phone and treating the clerks as if they were hardly there (to say nothing of other shoppers in their general vicinity); I've seen far too many people driving erratically whilst talking on cell phones; and do NOT get me started on the ill-mannered fuckwits who bring them into restaurants and theatres.

(Obviously, my answer is 'landline'.)
