Iran and tinfoil hats and August, 2006

Get your hat on - you'll need it for this one.

OK - I know a guy whose been in the special forces for about 15 - 20 years. He has a habit of not being where we think he is. For example, he was on "diplomatic leave" for about 6 weeks before we we started bombing Serbia. Turns out, he was in Serbia, in civilian clothing, doing, well, whatever special forces do in enemy territory 6 weeks before we start bombing them.

He was supposed to be conducting training in Georgia, but turns out he was in Panama when we were after Noriaga.

He was supposed to be at a seminar in Israel, but ended up in search and arrest missions in Kosovo looking for (and sometimes finding) people wanted for war crimes.

So anyway, he's shipping out to Afghanistan in August. Given his track record of never ending up where he tells us he's going, I'm betting Iran. Or is it too hot in August? This guy's specialty is targeted search and "retrieval" of persons, be they hostages or criminals, so we aren't talking about a full scale invasion that he'd be part of.
