I'm not yet sure where the wiretapping is going
This morning I hear a poll say 65% of americans say it's perfectly fine to have their phones tapped. Later today I'm seeing clips from people like Newt Gingrich and Joe Scarborough saying this is a serious abuse of presidential power and they seemed really mad about it. Even blamed liberals for not being outraged enough.

1. Disregard that 65% - completely bogus.
There are threads floating around about it - an obviously slanted attempt to shut everyone up. This is serious and everyone I know is outraged.

3. Have you read that poll?

It's worded to exclude anything but the gathering of phone numbers called, that's it. It specficially excludes listening to conversations.

The point is, how do people know what they are or aren't doing. All we know is that they won't let the Department of Justice have security clearance to find out. Our elected officials aren't authorized to be briefed.

It's a bogus question -- an obvious push poll -- and the fact that the WP rushed out there to take a poll on a story the same day it breaks, with carefully worded parameters, is a sham.

4. Apathy about wiretapping
It is sad, but apparently many people do not know about the concept of the slippery slope. If the government can acquire knowledge of your phone calls, what is next? Obviously someone in government will end up abusing this information. Where are the anti-government conservatives when we actually need them?

5. Yeah they really are pissed.
The gop is going to have a bad November.

If you truly were a conservative, you'd be feeling the same way you would if you were truly liberal on this, and on a lot things done in this administration.

B*sh isn't a conservative - I don't know what he is - but he is not that.

Joe
