Even when under the guise of asking nicely. Ya don't want to read a topic, don't read it. But you don't have to proclaim to the masses that they shouldn't have posted it, because it inconvenienced King You in some small way for having to deal with it.

I don't like the coulter threads either, as I could care less about her. I find her to be completely and utterly inconsequential. But know what I do? I just ignore her threads.

First, I can not force my will on anyone. I don't control what people post.

That doesn't mean I can't tell them posting bullshit fascist ravings by Coulter pisses me off.

I guess I feel the same way some people in Germany probably felt when they would see Nazi propaganda posters all over Berlin in 1932. I imagine there were those who told them to just ignore it too.

If everyone asked everyone else to not post threads on things they didn't like, there would be nothing left in GD. These requests only exist so that a poster can get a couple of "hear hear's!" while providing no real thought provoking context. Threads like this always come off as whiny to me. They all come down to the same thing: "Pweasssssse don't post things I don't like, pweaseeeee??". That is all threads like this are saying, ya know.

And yeah, that's just my opinion, and I felt the need to speak it. No biggie if threads like this keep poppin up, but when I feel the need to reply with a "get over it" reply, I'll do so.

Not to mention, there is a worldddddddddd of difference between a post within a thread and a thread itself. Did I start a thread declaring "please don't force your will on others"? See, there is a huge difference between replying with dissent to a thread and actually having the ego and need to be controlling to actually post a thread to the masses declaring the itty bitty opinion. But I have a feeling that concept may be lost on you LOL

I usually subscribe to the theory that listening or reading the ravings of a lunatic can cause some sort of psychic illness in the recipient, and so avoid doing so like the plague.

That person, in particular, needs to be ignored totally. She can spew her hatred and insane polemics to those that share her world view. They are soon to be a footnote to history as the real world passes them by.
