Why do the Republicans think they secured their base with the tax vote?
On the Orlando Sentinel front cover, yes folks, front cover, in big red letters it shows $42,000 average savings for people with incomes of 1 million plus a year; $46 average savings for households with incomes of about $50,000. "Senate OKs bill cutting $70 billion in taxes." and "The largely partisan 54-44 vote produces an isolated victory for President Bush."

How can this translate to votes for the GOOP? Are they just assuming they'll get the money back in campaign donations from the 1%ers and they'll use it to buy the election?

1. Well, the mediawhores got the BIG TAX BREAKS - so they'll continue to
protect BushInc and the fascist agenda, and keep telling the rest of America that they really like this president, and here's another Usama tape.

2. IMHO, I don't think they expected the MSM to give the number breakdowns...
They wanted to crow "TAX CUTS!" without the great unwashed masses (aka general public) knowing it was a big giveaway to the $1million+ crowd.

Ha. Ha. For the first time in a long time the MSM informed the public what this actually meant.

3. I think you're right. I don't think they expected a right-wing newspaper

to print the facts on the front cover.

If other newspapers did the same, Bush will be at 26% by the end of next week.

4. They also thought they could run on the war and the drug benefit.
These are not deep, clear thinkers.

6. They really are losers if they thought that siding with 1%ers was going
to improve their lives. 1%ers just think they're white trash.

8. Their base is the 1% that purchases the power, no matter which party is
in power.

9. 'Cause their base is the Billionaire Boys Club?
The rest of those Bush-worshippers (freeptards and such) are their useful idiots--mere household domestics in the eyes of the corporate moguls.

You know--kind of like the difference between "house slaves" and "field hands".

10. Because when the Dems get in, they can
yell that the Dems are raising taxes when the grotesque tax cuts for the super rich are recinded.
