Another BBCA gem - The Thick of It - Terrific show
Saw it last night and TIVOed rest of episodes - May16 - 10 CST, 19th - 8 CST, 20th - 12am CST, 23rd - 10 CST.

Don't know if any are repeats, but first show was brilliant. Mockumentary about cabinet secretaries in Great Britain - backbiting, panic spinning and with the dry wit I love.

Has received well deserved excellent reviews.

Anyone else catch it?

3. Oh yeah. Fabulous stuff.
It was created and written by Armando Iannucci, who is, in some ways, sort of the UK equivalent of Jon Stewart; in addition to working on the Alan Partridge series, he's done a number of satirical fake-newscast programs for the BBC. Here's an interesting interview he gave about The Thick of It and other topics:

Q. Who do you feel is the most ridiculous public figure right now?

For me it's still Donald Rumsfeld. How he never thought it would look bad to have letters of condolence to families of killed servicemen signed by a machine, I'll never know.

Blair is also as weird as I've always thought him to be. 'I only know what I believe.' That's the exact same argument used by The Taliban.
