My big lottery win!!!
I'm going to win several million dollars in the lottery tonight. This is just to let everyone know that once I'm filthy rich I plan to become a Republican and push for more tax cuts for the wealthy folks like me.

Of course, on the slim chance that I don't win tonight (perish the thought) then I'll just have to keep pushing for fair treatment of the middle class working folks, and reasonable, progressive taxation on the wealthy.

I just wonder how many poor liberals would become "conservatives" if they suddenly found themselves millions of dollars richer?

2. Hard to say.
I know my fair share of uber wealthy democrats. I think it takes a certain mindset to become a "conservative". I doubt most liberals would make that switch.

3. Not me.
I would probably quit my job and become some sort of "whacko" liberal activist with money to blow on good hard working people.

My sense of right and wrong has been with me since I was a very young lad and I see no reason to abandon it.

hell, the tax benefits for the rich don't kick in until you get into 8 figure terrority, sorry! with only a puny few million, you need to remain a democrat. Call me when you hit 20, and we can talk about your conversion.

13. I've known a lot of people who have won the lottery
my former assistant - $1 million
myself - a $72,000 Mercedes - years ago (sold it after driving
it for a while - loved it though!!)
my cousin - $1.2 million
my friends brother - $50,000
my parents - $10,000
coworker - $5 million
people in our neighborhood (didn't know them personally)- $6 million
parents neighbors - $700,000
other friends of parents - $500,000
friends/parents friends - $16,000

and I think there's more, but I'll have to put my thinking cap on :)

Wouldn't matter how rich I was, I would want to find a way to help
those in need on a bigger scale. Would love to have the "coin" to do that.

17. lol, every time I tell people this...they touch my shoulder
I'll internet zap yah with luck *poof* ..
It's sort of weird I guess...but I have to say..
I think I'm connected to luck (if there is such a thing)
in someway...
get a load of this...
3 days before I won the car...I had told some friends
of mine, that I felt like I was going to win something...
I had forgotten I had said that. One of my friends reminded
me after I got the call about my big win. Our local paper printed
that little tidbit in the paper as well (lol!!)

14. When you DO win, here's what to do...
Start a family foundation that promises to do some charity work like giving out scholarships or something. Then you can pay yourself and your family members an annual salary from the foundation and you won't have to pay taxes on the full amount of the winning ticket because it is going to a charitable organization.

I know that there are several attorneys who post here and they can tell you how to do this.

15. One Million? Ya Need 10 Million To Join The "Big Boys"
I had a banker recently tell me that...yep, having assets of $1 million just don't have the punch it once had...or 2 million or even 5 million. Unless you're in the 10-25 million range or have an annual income over 750k a year, you're nothing more that "upper middle class".

Good luck with your numbers.

Oh...btw, there are some millionaires who aren't Repugnicans...in fact I know one who detests the Repugnicans MORE now that he "fit the profile" than when he was barely getting by on 11k a year.

as I do today with a solidly middle class income, so I guess I pretty much know the answer on that one.

21. My Florida-resident mom always said
if she won the "big one" she'd finance the next Presidential Candidate, and he'd damn sure be a Dem.

She also says, tho, if her "ship comes in" it'll be loaded with pot, and the Coast Guard will nab it before it gets to port...

:P

27. I'd become 'socially liberal, but fiscally conservative'
if I won the lottery. You know, I'd believe in a decent world, as long as I don't have to pay for it.

Why should my 'hard earned money' go to a bunch of people who want something without working for it?

28. That's basically a perfect analogy
conservatives were lucky enough to have won the lottery and they don't want to share.
