President of Iran praises Jesus Christ....
Edited on Sun May-14-06 01:22 AM by blitzen
calls him "the great messenger of God."

Please repeat this over and over until it sinks in to the Fundies--then maybe an attack on Iran will be at least a tiny bit less likely.

By the way, it's true that he praises Christ (as do all Muslims), and the "great messenger of God" quote is from his rather interesting letter to Bush. Here's a link:

1. How dare this man invoke Jesus to manipulate his own ends:

2. Any Muslim would say that
Besides, I'm sure the likes of Falwell and Robertson would say he's "talking about a different Jesus."

3. I take it that...
the Islamic faith and supporting tenements hold Christ in a very high light - just not a divine one. To my knowledge, many Muslims regard him as a prophet and exalt him as such. But perhaps I'm mistaken. If someone would care to enlighten me if I'm mistaken, I welcome any correction.

7. You are correct...In fact, I wouldn't say "many" but rather "all"
since Jesus is one of the major prophets in the Qur'an

4. The Muslims accept and respect Christ as a prophet
Mohammed and Christ were of the same family. Abraham beget both of them.

We should be seeking peace not military dominance.

11. Yeah, families might squabble
but annihilation is normally out of the question.

6. Muslims revere Jesus
They admire his philosophy and works. They just do not accept that he is the Son of God. They maintain that there is only one undivided absolute Allah.

Ahmadinejad raises an important point: George, if you are such a devout follower of Christ, why are you so violent and ruthless and judgemental?

Sounds like an honest question to me. Ahmadinejad spends 18 pages trying to find common ground with us -- that doesn't strike me (IMHO) as the actions of a leader of a nation which hungers to destroy us.

8. The Jews also do not accept Christ as the son of God
Why W is being so arrogant to the Iranian leader rather than seeking peace begs questions.

But W will spend a cold day in hell before he thinks American will allow him to send their kids to die in another war mongering venture of his.
