Racists riding wave of anti-immigrant fervor

So the nation continues to obsess about a Spanish-language national anthem.

And a 17-year-old Texas youth lies in a hospital, miraculously hanging onto life.

His plight has been buried by never-ending discussions about a song that no one is pushing to replace the true national anthem.

The young Latino was found naked last month in a Houston area backyard. He’d been attacked by two other young men, one a known skinhead.

They beat the student, shoved a piece of PVC pipe into the young man’s rectum, then plowed it deep into his organs by kicking it. One attacker wore a steel-toed boot.

and they showed how a once disorganized scattered group of young white haters has been brought under the wing of that old guy, I think his name is Meeks, and are now a part of the Aryan brotherhood.

The new skinheads wear suits and go to college and are encouraged to get jobs in places (like government) where they can excercise power and put their policies in place.

They say they want their own country, just for white people, white entertainment, white music, etc. Some of them are quite well-spoken, though, because they are filled with such hatred, I cannot bring myself to call them intelligent.

There are quite a few of them and they talk about fighting quite a bit, own weapons and do their own backwoods militia training. It just makes you wonder why these tatooed punks are not in Iraq right now.

the Democrats can support. The worst thing possible is to state the Dems are in favor of open borders because it will create the perfect storm for the Right, who like to polarize everything. The Dems have to come up with something that will at least calm the rational conservatives (which go beyond moderates), the middle and the rational lefties (which should also go beyond moderates).

They want to bring in even more workers from poorer countries, to take whatever jobs they can't ship away.

They want what they call a "guest worker" program, in order to be able to bring in even more people from poorer countries, and to be able to treat them as badly or worse than they are being treated now, but to be able to do it officially.

All this nonsense about getting tough on the border, or about getting tough on the "illegals", is just cover their selling of "guest worker" as the solution to the "illegals" problem.

Even though the right wing media clowns get hit down hard by a few of the less comatose Fweeperland Flavor-Aid drinkers, for pushing "guest worker", and for saying stupid insulting stuff like "These are jobs Americans won't do.", they keep on pushing it, most often now by lining up the scripted shills they call "callers" to make the sales pitch for them.

I've mentioned the solution before, fines for those that employ non-citizens, or non-green card holders.

If on the other hand there's really a shortage of people in this country, a genuine shortage of workers, then make more people citizens.

Having a class of people who are either officially, or un-officially exploitable, degrades us all.

Don't blame them.

I expect this Monday night dog and pony TV show will be one major boooshie flip-flop...announce he'll be sending National Guardsmen (if there are any left) to the border (and if they have any functioning equipment available) and try to turn lemons into lemonaide...in a vain attempt to stop his sliding job performance numbers.

Be assured somehow the illegals and 9/11 will be tied together and the issue will be treated like an invasion of some foreign army as opposed to poor people searching for the chance at a better life. Boooosh let this issue burn him...he pissed off his base when he tried to push the guest worker fiasco and then ignored the growing furor whipped up by Lou Doobie and now see "political gold" in waiving a flag and puffing up his balls against yet another group of "brown-skinned" aliens.

Being Jewish, I can't help but see parallels here with how my relatives were treated in 1930's Germany. It's a shame I even have to think this about my country...I know my grandparents who escaped the progroms in Eastern Europe are spinning in their graves.

ADL Report: Extremists Declare 'Open Season' on Immigrants; Hispanics Target of Incitement and Violence


Washington, DC, April 24, 2006 … White supremacists and other far-right extremists are engaging in a growing number of violent assaults against legal and illegal immigrants and those perceived to be immigrants, while singling out all Hispanic Americans as potential targets, according to a new report from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). To counter this emerging new threat, the League has outlined a broad public policy Action Agenda stressing Congressional action and increased vigilance by law enforcement.

Extremists Declare 'Open Season' on Immigrants: Hispanics Target of Incitement and Violence takes a detailed look at how white supremacists, racist skinheads and others identifying with far-right extremist groups are using the national debate over immigration reform as a means to encourage likeminded racists to speak out, or even commit violent acts against immigrants. The full report was issued today at a special session at the ADL Shana Amy Glass National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C.

"It is time to shine the spotlight on those who have seized upon the immigration debate as an opportunity to advance their agenda of hate, bigotry and white supremacy," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director. "This report reminds us that there is a direct connection between the national policy debate and the atmosphere surrounding the daily lives of immigrants. Extremist groups are seeking to exploit the flow of foreign workers into this country to spread a message of xenophobia, to promote hateful stereotypes and to incite bigotry and violence against Hispanics, regardless of their status as citizens."

The extreme fringe of the anti-immigration movement includes white supremacist groups, anti-Hispanic hate groups masquerading as immigration reform groups, and vigilante border patrol groups who have conducted armed patrols along the borders of the United States.
