At least I THINK it's the complete video. It's 24 minutes long and I've only watched the first five minutes from the link. Very bold stuff from Colbert. He starts out a little slow, but he really gets rolling. I'm saving the link to watch the complete video later. I'm sure it's been posted before, but I think it's an important one that everybody should see.

car." :pals: I think some people think Colbert wasn't funny at the WH correspondents' dinner because those people don't get the "inside" humor, i.e. if they're not reading what we read here on DU, they really don't get all the references.

I believe the government that governs best also governs the least. By that measure we have set up a fabulous government in Iraq.

Pay no attention to the polls that show your approval ratings at 32%. Pay no attention to those that say the glass is half empty, because at 32%, the glass is actually 2/3 empty. But the point is that there's still water in that glass... ...but I wouldn't drink it because the last 1/3 is usually back-wash.

I stand by this man because he stands for things. Not only for things, he stands on things. things like air craft carriers and rubble, and recently flooded city squares. And that sends a strong message, that no matter what happens to America, she will always rebound with the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world.

I'm appalled to be here among the national media who always have a liberal bias, except for Fox news, who presents both sides of the story: The President's side, and the Vice President's.

Over the last five years you people (the news media) were so good. Over tax cuts, WMD intelligence, the effect of global warming... ...we Americans didn't want to know, and you had the courtesy not to try and find out.

At one point, Bush really looked like he wanted to kick Colbert's ass. It was funny, many in the crowd laughed out loud, while others looked really uncomfortable through the whole thing.
