Wolf Just Made Frist stutter... (12:10 Sunday - The Sit. Room)
Edited on Sun May-14-06 11:10 AM by FLDem5
He was dogging him - "can you tell us, giving no details, that even ONE terrorist attack has been foiled because of this phone records"

Frist: "I am privy to confidential briefings"

Wolf: "Without giving details, can you tell me that at least one..."

Frist: Uh.. l-l-look, I cannot, I cannot, I mean... "

Hee hee hee...

1. No because terrorists will use disposable phones or use someone
else's line by easily tapping into anyone else's phone line to make a call.

The records are not being obtained to thwart terrorism. What a lie.

2. Here's a thought - secure our borders and ports. Probably more
effective than monitoring our phone records.

The notion anything the Bush admin does re: spying on Americans has de-facto yielded any postive results in the WOT is the right wing meme and it must be debunked.

We all know this domestic spying is about determining those who support the Constitution and quieting them.

the anti-blitzers may get their wish. i wish CNN would return to its hard news format. i've found the only program worth listening to is lou dobbs (and sometimes the situation room). the rest is abominablr....but maybe there's a double standard. fox is beneath contempt and MSNBC is pathetic(with the exception of keith olbermann). it seems blitzer is singled out for all the antipathy. in my book, if jon stewart likes him, he can't be all bad.

57. All of us single parents who have adopted need to step up
to the plate on the gay adoption issue, they can't get rid of gay adoption without using reasons that apply to single parent adoptions as well.

I adopted my daughter from the foster care system at the age of 9, after her straight mother and father neglected her and allowed her to suffer abuse at the hands of others.

Quotes from my daughter include:

"living with you isn't 'interesting', it's safe."
"thanks for not hitting me when I disagree with you."
"my youth was not the best years of my life, now is the best years of my life." (at age 12)

My daughter, and thousands waiting in foster care like her, didn't need gay or straight, or two-parents or a single parent. She needed someone to love her, to be a grown up, to give her a family.

I'm kind of a wreck these past couple weeks, she graduates from high school in less than two weeks, and will be off to college--18 hours away. I will really miss her.

She's an amazing woman, who sees the world clearly. For mother's day she gave me "National Embarrassmints" (anti-bush mints from www.philosophersguild .com)

was very traumatic for me. Luckily, she chose school nearby.
I feel your pain. It's bittersweet to watch them grow up. Thanks to you, sounds like your daughter's growing into a wonderful young adult.

Sigh. Mine is 22, and also an incredible, independent woman. Once, I'll never forget, we were driving somewhere and she was telling me about someone in one of her classes who said something truly bigoted that shocked her, and she said to me, "Mom, I'm glad I was raised the way I was."

I knew then, for all my doubts, that I did a good job as a mom.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

55. Classified information...
Opens the door to all sorts of abuse... Funds disappear into a black hole because nobody can talk about it... Ethical considerations go down the drain because nobody can talk about it... Whistleblowers are unlikely to come forward because of the severe adverse consequences of talking about classified information... It's extremely dangerous for a democracy, especially when certain branches of the government are not doing their job of balancing out the others...
