Passaic County (NJ) gets faulty voting machines (Sequoia).
Passaic County's new electronic voting machines, which went on display last week, have already drawn a thumbs-down review from some voting-rights advocates because the machines do not comply with state law.

"These machines are worthless," Penny M. Venetis, co-director of the Rutgers Constitutional Law Clinic in Newark, said. "They should try to do everything they can to hold the company accountable."

The AVC Advantage machines are manufactured by Sequoia Voting Systems of Oakland, Calif., and are New Jersey's most popular model, with about 8,000 units operating in 19 of the state's 21 counties.

1. Throw the machines out
The Repugs are doing everything they can to invalidate the next 2 elections.

They want everyone to vote on faulty machines and when no one can figure out who won anymore, then the government will fall, which is exactly what they want.

Paper & Pen! Hand Counts! NOW!

2. We also use those machines here in Bergen County
We switched to them from the old lever machines about 1995. The problem is that NJ law now requires all machines give the voter a written receipt of his vote and all the machines have to be retrofitted with printers, etc. Apparently Passaic Co. ordered its new machines before the law was passed requiring the receipts. I believe the receipt requirement will be in effect for the whole state of NJ beginning with the 2008 general election.
