Jack Cafferty,CNN 5/11/06:
I don’t know about wisdom but you’ll get a little outrage. We better all hope that nothing happens to Arlen Specter, the Republican head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, because he might be all that’s standing between us and a full-blown dictatorship in this country. He’s vowed to question these phone company executives about volunteering to provide the government with my telephone records, and yours, and tens of millions of other Americans.

Cafferty will be discussing the topic today at 7pm ET on The Situation Room. I think Jack needs to know that his knight in shining armor, Arlen Specter, is now trying to write that "dictatorship" stuff into law and make sure the Sniffer In Chief gets to skate. It’s a far cry from "all that’s standing between us and a full-blown dictatorship." Specter has refused to subpoena James Comey and John Ashcroft, the two people who might be able to shine some light on the illegal NSA wiretaps.
