4. National Strike!
Shut it down. Also we need total exit polling too.

Only Utah, Wyoming, & Idaho have more then 50% approval for bush.
The 06 election will be an up or down vote on bush.

The demons of truth would be unleashed. There
could be blood in many streets. General uprising,
just like 1776...except the Tories are the republi-can'ts.
I love the smell of burning stock certificates in the a.m.

38. in what sense...?
the media only reports a "story." If there are massive screw-ups with the machines, long lines, etc they can report that. But if there is more underhanded rigging and fudging going on, how do they know, in a system with no transparency? We need oversight of the election process, true oversight. I don't think we'll have a situation as in 04 when the media was complicit with the loss of the exit poll figures. They won't be doing any exit polling, is what I understand. Seeing something amiss may even be harder.

39. well, I was thinking more in terms of how
the media (Lou Dobbs really) pushed this so called "immigration" issue to the fore-front,
and how the media (again was it mostly Lou Dobbs - I'm in Canada so don't watch many other
US news channels) pushed the Ports Issue to the front page...

If the media reports polling that is widespread between dems and cons (dems higher)
then it will be much harder to justify "election" theft then when polls says, for example,
Dems are ahead by x% while republicans are sitting at lets say 29%...Theiving
an election with this kind of reported spread would be very difficult. If the media
decides to continue reporting fairly "accurate" polling..then theft is more difficult,
more blatant, more obvious. That's sort of what I was referring to.

41. I think some journalist would really have to stay on top of it
and worry it like Lou Dobbs is doing with immigration. Last time in 04, it was only Keith Olbermann on MSNBC who questioned the election. The rest of the media was totally complicit in the cover-up. I hope Keith has company this time.

Well I don't know if poll numbers can be trusted. The pre-election polls will be conflicting --the ones sympathetic to Pugs will have the margin closer. Only up-to-the minute exit polls have ever proved to be truly accurate. We need independent (non-media connected) exit polls but apparently we wont have those in November. I think this bunch is so corrupt that they blatantly steal elections and then just dare anybody to do anything about it. Already Rove said he thought the Pugs would "pick up 10 more seats." My head goes tilt at that statement in this current climate, but maybe he feels very confident that the fix is in. If there's discrepancy between pre-election polls and the outcome, they'll just make up some lame rationale and the corporate media will just play along.

of congress and/or the senate...but bizzarro-world has become

46. yeah
see you on the other side of the elections. They will be a test. :scared: I hope since 2004 that more people have realized the US elections are not to be trusted and need serious comprehensive reform. Citizen outcry might get some attention, if it seems obvious that there is rigging. But so much of that kind of corruption is under the radar. How long can any of us stand Bizarro World before there is some kind of mass nervous breakdown?

10. Pretty much everyone loses faith in the institution of our government.
Seriously, I think if Republicans steal it again, the country has a nervous breakdown. They can't govern, all they can do is loot the Treasury and start wars. The federal government will implode and we'll be back to trying to keep sanity at the local/state level.

with lots of machine breakdowns and so on. Even so, Casy won, and 2 GOP leaders of the legislature were booted. I don't know if there's hope, but it's possible we'll just overwhelm them, even with all their cheating and "incompetence"

(of course, that's what I thought in '04)

...for two days. Everything. No transport of goods, no conducting of business of any kind, and no buying of anything unless you absolutely have to have something.

If that doesn't get their attention, do it again in 2 weeks, but this time do it for a week.
