David Geffen, a producer who co-founded the DreamWorks studio with Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg, was in seventh place with 4.2 billion dollars.

Spielberg is the top director on the list, at 14th, with 2.8 billion dollars, while Roy Disney, the nephew and heir of Walt Disney, earned 34th place with 1.2 billion dollars. Katzenberg, a former head of Disney, is 46th with 859 million.

Gibson, who produced and directed the blockbuster "The Passion of the Christ," took the 47th spot with 850 million dollars, making him the top actor on the list.

In fifth place, with 4.8 billion dollars, is Jeffrey Skoll, former chief executive of online auction site, eBay, of which he still owns six percent. Skoll, 41, is one of the youngest on the list and was producer of "Good Night, and Good Luck" and "Syriana."

5. From a christian perspective, Jesus (God) made them all rich.
All material possessions are gifts from God.

I hope Mel read all the things Jesus said about what Mel should do with all that cash.

BTW, anybody see Mel's recent bashing of the Bush admin?

6. Well then, I guess Jesus is also responsible for all the wretched,
limbless people begging on the streets just to survive.

Or does He/She/It just get credit for the successes?

12. Neither wealth nor poverty are deserved.
It is the economic systems devised by man that create wealth disparities.

7. Gibson was already filthy rich before "Passion". Additionally,...
...and IMHO, he bankrolled most of the cost for "Passion", so therefore, he deserved the lion's share of the profits.

9. Guess Mel needs to bear in mind what Jesus himself said about
rich men and camels and eyes of needles and heaven.............

Something about serving god and mammon, too.............

If he gives most of it to legitimate charities to help the less fortunate, MAYBE he can redeem himself.

10. giving to those let fortunate ONLY if they subscribe to his *particular*
beliefs. The loudest purveyors of the teachings of Jesus seem to be the ones that read them the least.

and you make alot of money. If the movie wasn't good people wouldn't have gone to see it.
