The sentencing memo in the Tobin phone jamming case.

http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/docs/tobin-deeds/

Look at the list of acomplishments. Now, really, couldn't you say that about anyone?

"Provided advice and support for: (fill in the blank with a sob story) like: single parent, friend with Downs Syndrom child, friend after a car accident."

This is what shrinks call the Barnam effect, something you can say "about" someone that the person will agree with (how they read your presonality at the state fair) "many people admire you even if they don't always tell you" "you surround yourself with supportive people who are good hearted" "you are always well meaning even if you don't always hit your mark". Sheesh, who can disagree about any of that.

I could say I provided advice and support to a stranger on the street when I gave them a quarter and said "good luck to you."

I've been a lawyer for 30 years, I seen this stuff on rare occasion. We don't do this crap because judges see right through it.

So, any word on his sentencing?
