4. OK, I did...
wikipedia: "The term ethnic cleansing refers to various policies of forcibly removing people of one ethnic group. At one end of the spectrum, it is virtually indistinguishable from forced emigration and population exchange, while at the other it merges with deportation and genocide."

No one, not even the Republicans in the House, whose plan is far more reactionary than Bush's, is calling for the removal of an entire ethnic group, and I don't think it's right to equate their actions with that. Doing so cheapens the horror of actual ethnic cleansing. But, hey, that's just my opinion.

5. I thought he approached them as needing their votes
That's why he did his weekly radio address in Spanish - granted it will only apply to citizens and legals who later naturalize, but there is a hispanic population without illegal aliens.

6. Is he kicking out LEGAL Mexican immigrants too?
Edited on Thu May-18-06 11:45 AM by MercutioATC
If not, this thread is pure bullshit (which it is).

When he starts to kick out law-abiding American citizens just because they're of Mexican drscent, gimme a call. Otherwise, it's not "ethnic cleansing".

7. C'mon now-talk about extreme knee jerk reactions.
:eyes:

* is evil, but is he killing Mexicans? NO.

BUT if you are talking about what he's done to the Iraqis/Muslims or to the Blacks/Poor of NOLA, well then, THAT is a different story and could certaintly be called ethnic cleansing. :grr:
