"the church of the Republican Party"
Edited on Thu Jan-12-06 05:05 PM by rurallib
Can't remember where I heard that yesterday, but it broke me up. Such a true statement. Do they have an official published catechism?

2. Yes - fixed and the offending finger has been reprimanded
for making me a mockery. In the Republican church it would be subject to physical punishment.

3. No catechism...they only agree on one or two items.
Let them get those (abortion, gay marriage) out of the way, and then watch the fun as the Protestant fundamentalists and the Roman Catholics turn on each other like so many piranhas attacking a fawn. "The Great Satan" vs. "The Whore of Babylon." wheee!!!
:bounce:

9. Your statement Gildor
says exactly what I've been wondering about. Catholics/protestants/baptists all in bed together. They use to hate each other. Oh well, they will again, just as you predict.

10. The religious extremists on both sides still hate each other
There is a truce between extreme Catholics and extreme Protestants/Bapists on these two issues. You bring up anything else with either side and then "if you are not one of us you are going to hell".

6. Repukes hate poor people and have very little love for the
middle class. So I'd guess if these schmucks have a church, one would have to be goddamn wealthy to get into the front door.

7. I call them the Cult of the Unborn.
They really just worship the unborn.

8. The Church of Satan might not like
the Rethuglicans trying to take over their job -- it might interrupt with that planned corporate buyout where Microsoft finishes merging with Evil.. ;)

If these tax-cut-hugging Free-Market-serving concept-thieving repressed sex-controllers and woman-hating misogynists want to start a church, the only catechism I can see them using is the Rules of Acquisition.

(Why is it that virtually EVERY single idea the 'cons like to trumpet is both a)abstract and b)often contradictory to other stated abstracts?)

Look, they're sharks. Almost impossible to reason with, and born to fuck over everyone around them -- not unlike SOME churches (no offense to religious DU'ers). Find a tank, fill it with water, turn loose one air tank, one briefcase of money, one bribe in a waterproof folder, and one underwater pistol. The winner is the one who escapes with all four objects -- and at least one bullet still in the chamber.

~~AA~~

{{For a more entertaining variant on the watertank adventure, be sure to make certain that the one remaining bullet will detonate on some esoteric condition -- for example, it will only detonate when the unlucky idiot passes a GPS coordinate with two prime numbers. :) }}
