I am doing Nielsen TV ratings this week.
They called me, sent me $5 for the trouble, and I get to fill in "Countdown with Keith Olbermann", "The Daily Show", "Colbert Report" every day, and "The Simpsons" to boot. Ha! Expect KO ratings to go up by just a slight notch!

1. We were supposed to do it last week
But the packet never reached our hands. Methinks the local crankers grab these things for those crisp $5's.

Pissed me off. I was looking forward to boosting the ratings of some of my fave shows....

How do I become a member of the Nielsen TV sample?
Strictly through chance. We cannot ask every home to participate, so we carefully select a sample of homes in your community to represent the entire TV audience. To be statistically accurate it is essential that our samples be randomly selected. Every household in the United States has a chance of being selected, no matter where it is located.

6. It's up to $5 now?
We did it about 10 or 12 years ago and they sent us $1.

It was a PIA to keep that diary, but felt good to be a Neilson Family. :)

8. maybe you should swap the simpsons to C-Span - just to give a nod
to just about the only channel on cable that serves the citizenry -by showing how our democracy has been completely desimated..
