Does anyone know anything about "Project Restore"?
This is my first time starting a thread so be gentle, LOL.

I just received a stupid flyer, through the mail, from this "Project Restore, INC" -obviously a religious group- which, on the cover, has a picture of the New York skyline missing the twin towers and in their place are 2 tablets with the 10 commandments on it. Underneath is the word "REMEMBER".
I don't like receiving religious flyers in general, but that this one is out of the U.S. and I'm here in Canada bothers me even more.
I went to the website to check it out, and I'm having a hard time making out what their views are, since articles have scripture all over them and reading scripture makes my eyes cross and words go blurry. LOL. Seems like there's quite a bit of Catholic bashing going on though. No mention of denomination or any other identifyers.
I can't figure out what denomination this group is, and I'm curious to know. Not to mention I'm thoroughly disgusted with their cover. Anyone know about this group?

3. Thanks for the welcome!
I checked that site out and it only served to confuse me more. Many articles, and some 'prophesy' driven stuff, but I can't find out WHO this group is. I'm just trying to find out if this is one of those religious groups that follows a particular political agenda.

5. Apologies for not reading your post all the way through
Sometimes I let my general anger blind me to what people are asking. :)

There isn't much on Project Restore on the web as you probably already know. But from this site -- http://www.plusline.org/organization.php?id=5406 -- it appears they're adventists/evangelicals. I wouldn't like to assume any political persuasion because of that; there are some evangelical groups who've come out pro-separation of church and state. But...the international proselytizing and prophecies stuff leaves a bad taste in the mouth. From the titles they flog they almost sound like Dominionists. Bad mojo.

If it were me, I'd send it back to them and ask to be taken off their mailing list. But ye olde circular file is just as appropriate a resting place for it.

2. I am sorry I cannot help you
these type of organizations seem to be coming out of the woodwork right now, sort of like termites in swarm season. I'd throw the silly flyer away and think of the money they wasted on postage.

I also wanted to welcome you to DU and congratulate you on your first post!

4. Thanks!
I guess it bothers me because it's a US company and being in Canada, I've never received this drivel before, other than the JW's coming directly to the door.
LOL, yes they are coming out of the woodwork now. Maybe it's because of our Conservative gov't now they feel emboldened. Who knows.
Again, thanks for the welcome. :D

their 'mission' as a fight between 'good' and 'evil' isn't worth the time it takes to read it.

Welcome to DU, laundry_queen! And when can you have my shirts done?
