Other Than "Your Candidate," Who Could You Be Happy With In 2008?
Edited on Thu May-18-06 01:12 PM by Dinger
Second place, one name.

For me, this is hard, but if I were FORCED to decide, I'd say Feingold, and I LOVE Feingold!

P.S. 2006 is WAY more important right now, that's a given.

2. Several
Clark, Dean, Gore, Kerry, Feingold
I'm more concerned about the ones I wouldn't be happy with: Hillary Clinton, Joseph Biden

12. Those are my top 3 too...
for likely candidates. I would add John Edwards as #4 and if we were doing really unlikely long shots I'd add John Conyers and Barbara boxer.

11. whatever happened to mark warner? there were tons of threads
about him a few months ago. now i don't see or hear anything.

i would love feingold, but they'll tear him apart. he's a jew, been married 3 times, called for censure of the president. they'll use that and more as amunition against him.

14. Dinger, I agree 100%
with what you said.....my first choice was, is and will continue to be Clark but if I absolutely had to make a second choice, I love Feingold, also.

And most importantly, as Wes says, all of us have to focus first and foremost on 2006. We MUST take at least one of the Houses in November.

15. Gore Clark
Two men i can trust.

Kerry and some of these other ones i've not heard of are
fine too, i'll vote dem, that said, i'n not gonna vote
for schumer or nadler this time, abstaining. The corporate
thing has to evolve, there is no return to clintonism, but
waking up to an immediate new reality as a national security
paraiah state ourselves, run by an unstable proven war criminal
indicted in every press outet on earth outside their official
broadcast channels... indicted for war crimes... it is what
is expected, keep the yankee tied down so he can't do more
war crimes, but don't be seen to be doing that to still prop
up the false economies of grossly distorted neo-feudal stateside
economic models.

The next president(s) need to be able to work as a team, like
a proper cabinet, reprsenting a new coalition of democrats who
do not abandon their principals.

The drugs war is a failure,
the terror war is a failure,
the mindset of war is a failure,
Gore has the balls to stand down the mindset,
And clark has similarly, and the ability to control this global
military beast and reform it.

19. Naw, I really like Dennis, but
as a realistic candidate, I dunno - the Gore/Feingold combo is very appealing. Re-Elect Al Gore in 2008! I like it. And don't let any media consultants near the big guy; he's doing just fine on his own.

30. Agreed!
Hillary is the candidate the repukes love to hate (so much that they cant even name any sitting dems in the congress / senate). Nominating her would be political suicide for the dems.

23. Since I'm a Dennisegan,
and a rational, I'd have to say Gore/Clark and if not some arrangement of those two, then Russ and Conyers. We need to keep an eye on two major Tennessee players out there, too: Harold Ford, Jr. and Phil Bredesen... Hell, let's make it an all Tennessee ticket or an Arkansas/Tennessee ticket!
Please not Hillary or Lieberman or Nelson! They tired.

29. I don't really want Kerry or Gore but could probably get behind either
Democrats usually don't do well with re-treads.

Frankly, I could live with any of them. My girlfriend is from Delaware so it's entirely possible that I will have Biden stickers on my car...which does not thrill me to say the least.

Gore
Feingold
Edwards

respectively.

Gore is making a run at becoming "my" candidate.

postscript: I know you asked for one, but everyone else was listing several, so . . .
