Anti-Francine Busby ads are demonizing her as a "Liberal".
After all the accusations about her supporting radical groups(teachers uninon) and having a campaign helper that had child porn on his computer, they finish the attack ad saying"'Liberal', Francine Busby". Like being a liberal is a terrible thing.
Sadly, beacause of the demographics of the 50th, this ad may prove effective.
How can we demonize the term "conservative"? These ads are sickening!

2. They are anything but conservative -- they're radicals of . . .
The most destructive stripe.

One recommendation I've see is to make the comparison between "progressive" and "regressive." Whenever I refer to a 'Lican (in a non-colloquial forum), I use the term "regressive." When asked, I say, "You know: Republicans."

Has the desired effect.

3. Demonize
Her opponent stands for allowing the fed gov't to keep parents who make $75,000 a year from helping their children go to college, no tax deduction because they go to big oil.(don't forget where this district is, 75,000 is probably low) Your children will not have competitive jobs and will be paying off *'s debt with poor pay. As usual "those conservative today" only care about their cronies today.

5. Well, she is a liberal. What you gonna do? If people are stupid
enough to think a liberal is a bad word, what are you gonna do.

6. That's easy
Duke Cunningham's dirty deeds are Republican values
Brian Bilbray's (lack of) a home address in the 50th district and lying about it is a Republican value
Howard Kaloogian's radical ideas on illegal immigration are Republican values
Barbara Coe's views on Mexicans are Republican values

I could add more...

8. Bilbray is from Imperial Beach. Was mayor there for years.
Till it went "blue" and he could get elected there, either as mayor or in congress. So he did what Cunningham did. Moved to a conservative/fundie area and slammed the people he used to represent, to get votes.
Bilbray is a desperate man.

How often do you see a 54 year old millionaire and lobbyist move in with Mama?

10. This strikes a chord with me because
all around my red area, I see campaign signs for Republicans denoting them as "conservative" Republicans. :eyes: Yet if there were a sign for a "liberal" Democrat, people would be stunned. How have they done this to us? What a piece of PR machinery the Republican party is. What a tragedy for the country.
