I don't think you want the yards of explaination of 'my identity', it is complex and wordy. How does one summarize their whole life for questioners that you have one?

I'm not secret, nor compromised. I just don't have any need to explain anything to you just cuz you ask... mmmkay?

btw, what's your PIN number?

19. Blue Moon lyrics. It's been Years since I've paid attention.
Blue Moon
You saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own
Blue Moon
You know just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked to the Moon it turned to gold

Blue Moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will ever hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me
And when I looked the Moon had turned to gold

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

Blue moon
Now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

51. After all I've done for you you're throwing "I Love Onions" away?
This cuts me.

Deep.

I don't like snails or toads or frogs
Or strange things living under logs
But mmm, I love onions!

I don't like to dance with Crazy Ted
He's always jumping on my head
But mmm, I love onions!

Onions, onions, la-la-la!
Onions, onions, ha-ha-ha!
Root doot doot-doot, doot doot doot!

Onions, onions, la-la-la!
Onions, onions, ha-ha-ha!
Root doot doot-doot, doot doot doot!

I don't like rain or snow or hail
Or Moby Dick the Great White Whale
But mmm, I love onions!

I don't like shoes that pinch your toes
Or people who squirt you with a garden hose
But mmm, I love onions!

Onions, onions, la-la-la!
Onions, onions, ha-ha-ha!
Root doot doot-doot, doot doot doot!

Onions, onions, la-la-la!
Onions, onions, ha-ha-ha!
Root doot doot-doot, doot doot doot!

SPOKEN: Onion is a tuberous vegetable, and is a member of the genus
Stinkus Delicioso. It was highly prized by the ancient Egyptian
pharaohs and their friends and cousins. It causes watering of the
eyes and rubifaction of the skin, but it is very, very tasty.

Onions, onions, la-la-la!
Onions, onions, ha-ha-ha!
Root doot doot-doot, doot doot doot!

Onions, onions, la-la-la!
Onions, onions, ha-ha-ha!
Root doot doot-doot, doot doot doot!

How vewy, vewy cwood.

There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
We better stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, now, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down

correct me if I am wrong but the phrase "frog-marched out of the white house in handcuffs" that joe wilson was referring to meant forcibly going to jail. Even if Rove was in DC tomorrow and an indictment was announced it is unlikely he would be marched anywhere in handcuffs, so I have assumed that everyone's suggestion of tomorrows 'frog march' simply meant indictment.

when an indictment comes down his own lawyers will bring him in and he will be booked, photographed, fingerprinted then likely released on his own recognizance. there will be no 'frog march' for any of these people until they are convicted.

Also to note, Libby's indictment was made official on October 28 but he was not booked, etc until November 3 after he entered an official plea in court.

sorry, I should have taken the term frog march more literally...

140. Cynic?
No, I'm hardly cynical. What an odd characterization you make on the basis of posts on a message board. Interesting.

I could do whatever I please. Does that trouble you? Obviously, it does.

So, my question to you is this: does your passive-aggressive behavior serve you well in life, or do you just keep nipping at heels like you did here?

You don't have to answer that one. I know, I know. It's hard werk.

148. I have yet to see a single post from you that aligns with the
mission statement for this community:

Democratic Underground (DU) was founded on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2001, to protest the illegitimate presidency of George W. Bush and to provide a resource for the exchange and dissemination of liberal and progressive ideas

Now, being you, you may scoff at this. It's the thing that you do.

However, over many months of seeing your posts in various threads, I've never seen you take a stand consistent with the view of most DU'ers.

You're ready with the "zinger" and the cynical remark. However, I've yet to see anything substantial from you about the many issues that brought the majority of us to DU.

So, if your response continues to be name calling or questioning my character, so be it.

MKJ

55. Yep, and I completely understand why they did it...
... The number of new threads opened up on this topic (from many viewpoints) in the last 6 days has been huge. It seems that many people want to be the OP rather than comment on an existing thread. A lot of these threads have made their way to the Greatest list too. I can understand if DUers who don't care about this topic wouldn't like that.

I also think that given the sometimes incendiary, insulting and profane posts on those threads the modmins would like to contain them in one thread to make the mopping up much easier. I imagine them thinking: "Good. Having them all in one place will make things easier for me."

23. Supposed to be a W. Pitt quote from Justaintright. Are they reliable?
http://justaintright.blogspot.com/2006_05_01_justaintright_archive.html
From The Just aint right site:

This (supposedly) is a quote from William Pitt, Leopold's editor:

Those who have stood with truthout are owed a massive river of thanks. Your faith will be rewarded.

William Pitt:
"Those who have expressed doubts, and await further confirmation, are totally above reproach. If I didn't know what I know, if I was a DUer out of the fact loop truthout has been in, I'd be doing and saying exactly the same things. <...> truthout was right on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, yesterday and today. We will still be right tomorrow and Friday, no matter what the goddam unbelievable lapdog mainstream media has to say (or more to the point, doesn't have to say) about it.

I understand your frustrations at the way this has played out; in fact, I call your frustration and raise it a billionfold. There are good reasons for this, and those reasons will be made clear when everything comes out. Those good reasons haven't made the process easier."

and I'm one of them. I have internet access at my fingertips all the time, and checking in here is always enlightening.

Plus, I type really fast and think even faster.

Let's see - pressing in my life?

Well, until we clean the dried blood out of the duck press, that's not gonna get used.

The housekeeper picked up the cleaning already.

Nobody's hair has frizzed up, so there's no need to get out the iron and press it.

But, I do appear to be out of sealing wax, so perhaps it's a good time to replenish the supply and then I can press my personal monogram onto the letters I have to write.

Thanks for reminding me ------------------------------------------------------->

Poor guy...I know he was stressed and had a few pints too many but calling his fellow DU'ers Cretins and taking credit for outing all the Repug Trolls here on DU kind of makes one wonder what he thinks of all these threads.

Let's hope he takes this support gracefully because he certainly hasn't been let down by us DU "Cretins" since he posted: "ROVE INDICTED" here.

We've tried to stay with him and hope that tomorrow he will be vindicated.

Then he can applaud all of us for our efforts in having faith, hope and charity.

I haven't been posting in all these threads, but I've been reading them. And seeing this I just had to say something. You know, personally, I spend a lot of time on DU. And guess what. I'm a housewife. I don't need to spend all day cleaning what's already clean. I don't watch tv because it makes me apathetic. There's not a whole lot to do in my town, and I'm kind of a hermit. Because I have some serious social anxiety issues. So yeah, I spend a lot of time on here. What the hell is the harm in some people happening to be online a lot? Like I said, what an asinine question. You feel good about yourself? How insulting. I doubt you "really wonder".

We're not all like that. Really.

To answer your question, no, some people do not have anything more pressing than to rehash the same arguments for days on end. Amazingly, this was already going on for several days prior to these "official" threads.

The vehemence and persistence of those on both sides of this argument have been pretty astounding. Let's hope we can focus that kind of energy on stuff that really matters, like winning back Congress this fall.

This - http://www.villagekitchen.com/mfg/matfer/ktool/duck/duck.html - is a duck press. It is a remarkable contraption, used by foodies to prepare duck in a slender variety of ways.

If you know the right people, you can get one as a wedding gift. Especially if your aunt who moved to France during WWII so that she could "kill those fucking Nazis" thinks you have to have one.

3) Schuster from MSNBC researched and stated that in each of Fitzgerald's cases, "Official A" has been indicted.

69. Oh, now you're backing away from what you said
You said "know."

That's a world of different from "I heard it on MSNBC and I believe everything I hear anywhere."

So, you don't know, but you think it will because a TV guy said this is how it works. Hey, if that's what floats your boat ......

Well, if Karl Rove being indicted will help to heal the damage I've witnessed this past week, then I hope he's indicted. But, somehow, I don't think it's going to change a damn thing in any lives, except for the Rove family, and what will happen to all that counterproductive bloodlust that's bloodied these waters lately, I wonder?

Thanks for the response. I thought you were really onto something, and that would have meant that Patrick Fitzgerald's operation had - for the first time ever - sprung a leak. Now, I know that you watch MSNBC and believe what they say.

Faith is good.

The Veep and Pakistan

Cheney Helped Cover-Up Nuclear Proliferation in 1989, So Pentagon Could Sell Pakistan Fighter Jets

By JASON LEOPOLD
COUNTERPUNCH March 8, 2004

When news of Pakistan's clandestine program involving its top nuclear scientist selling rogue nations, such as Iran and North Korea, blueprints for building an atomic bomb was uncovered last month, the world's leaders waited, with baited breath, to see what type of punishment President Bush would bestow upon Pakistan's President Pervez Musharaff.

Bush has, after all, spent his entire term in office talking tough about countries and dictators that conceal weapons of mass destruction and even tougher on individuals who supply rogue nations and terrorists with the means to build WMDs. For all intents and purposes, Pakistan and Musharraf fit that description.

Remember, Bush accused Iraq of harboring a cache of WMDs, which was the primary reason the United States launched a preemptive strike there a year ago, and also claimed that Iraq may have given its WMDs to al-Qaeda terrorists and/or Syria, weapons that, Bush said, could be used to attack the U.S.

Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and top members of the administration reacted with shock when they found out that Abdul Qadeer Khan, Pakistan's top nuclear scientist, spent the past 15 years selling outlaw nations nuclear technology and equipment. So it was sort of a surprise when Bush, upon finding out about Khan's proliferation of nuclear technology, let Pakistan off with a slap on the wrist. But it was all an act. In fact, it was actually a cover-up designed to shield Cheney because he knew about the proliferation for more than a decade and did nothing to stop it.

Like the terrorist attacks on 9-11, the Bush administration had mountains of evidence on Pakistan's sales of nuclear technology and equipment to nations vilified by the U.S._nations that are considered much more of a threat than Iraq_but turned a blind eye to the threat and allowed it to happen.

In 1989, the year Khan first started selling nuclear secrets on the black-market; Richard Barlow, a young intelligence analyst working for the Pentagon prepared a shocking report for Cheney, who was then working as Secretary of Defense under the first President Bush administration: Pakistan built an atomic bomb and was selling its nuclear equipment to countries the U.S. said was sponsoring terrorism.

Nobody's perfect. Leopold got a lot of the above from other reporters' work, including Hersh. And lots above is Leopold's own, as well. That news gets borrowed and used as the basis for other articles. That's how the game is played. We stand on each other's shoulders. And the Truth emerges.

Wonder what ever happened to Barlow?

91. Hi, annabanana! Remember who told us about NSA spying prior to 9-11?
Good to read you! Thank you for stating what you think.

In reality, I don't mind people disagreeing with the guy. That's how we learn what's what and what isn't.

What's strange to me is the sheer volume of venom directed toward the guy -- just because one article didn't turn out like he thought he would.

My concern is we'll forget about all the times Leopold's been correct.

Here's another:

From Your Mouth to His Ears

How Cheney Used the NSA for Domestic Spying Prior to 9/11

By JASON LEOPOLD
COUNTERPUNCH January 20, 2006

In the months before 9/11, thousands of American citizens were inadvertently swept up in wiretaps, had their emails monitored, and were being watched as they surfed the Internet by spies at the super-secret National Security Agency, former NSA and counterterrorism officials said.

The NSA, with full knowledge of the White House, crossed the line from routine surveillance of foreigners and suspected terrorists into illegal activity by continuing to monitor the international telephone calls and emails of Americans without a court order. The NSA unintentionally intercepts Americans' phone calls and emails if the agency's computers zero in on a specific keyword used in the communication. But once the NSA figures out that they are listening in on an American, the eavesdropping is supposed to immediately end, and the identity of the individual is supposed to be deleted. While the agency did follow protocol, there were instances when the NSA was instructed to keep tabs on certain individuals that became of interest to some officials in the White House.

What sets this type of operation apart from the unprecedented covert domestic spying activities the NSA had been conducting after 9/11 is a top secret executive order signed by President Bush in 2002 authorizing the NSA to target specific American citizens. Prior to 9/11, American citizens were the subject of non-specific surveillance by the NSA that was condoned and approved by President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, according to former NSA and counterterrorism officials.

The sources, who requested anonymity because they were instructed not to talk about NSA activities but who hope they can testify before Congress about the domestic spying, said that in December 2000, the NSA completed a report for the incoming administration titled "Transition 2001," which explained, among other things, how the NSA would improve its intelligence gathering capabilities by hiring additional personnel.

Moreover, in a warning to the incoming administration, the agency said that in its quest to compete on a technological level with terrorists who have access to state-of-the-art equipment, some American citizens would get caught up in the NSA's surveillance activities. However, in those instances, the identities of the Americans who made telephone calls overseas would be "minimized," one former NSA official said, in order to conceal the identity of the American citizen picked up on a wiretap.

If you look, all that venom is coming from a very small group of people. I have a feeling that something more is going on here.
I have my theory, but I will keep it to myself.

Here’s the TPM piece:

Truthout Editor: I Know and Speak With Leopold’s Secret Rove Sources
By Justin Rood - May 18, 2006, 3:55 PM
I spoke with Marc Ash yesterday - he’s the Executive Director of Truthout.org, and the editor who’s been working with Jason Leopold on his stories about how Bush adviser Karl Rove has been indicted; that Rove privately told President Bush he would be resigning; and that Fitzgerald met with Rove’s lawyer for 15 hours last Friday.

Leopold’s stories were long received with silence from both the mainstream and alternative press; as the days go by and no indictment has been forthcoming, what coverage has emerged has been questioning, if not derisive, about Truthout’s coverage.

Truthout and Ash have stood by Leopold’s reporting. Relying as he does almost completely on anonymous sources, I wondered if Leopold shared his sources’ identities with his editor. So I asked Ash if he knew the identities of Leopold’s sources. “I do,” he told me. Have you spoken with any of them? “I have,” Ash said. “I work with Jason on all sourcing, on all of his pieces, prior to publication.”

Keeping an editor in the loop on the identities of confidential sources helps ensure reporters don’t make up “sources” out of whole cloth — which some have come close to accusing Leopold of doing for these stories. It’s not a foolproof safeguard — serial fabricator Steven Glass found ways around the practice (for a time) at The New Republic. But it helps, if only by staking two more reputations — Ash’s and Truthout.org’s — on Leopold’s reporting.
