*Weekly roundup*
First- IT'S A DAMNED WORK OF FICTION!!! I have had three co-worker stop me and ask about the Da Vinci Code movie and how the book might have some inaccuracies in it. All of them are regular church goers...I guess we see the pool they draw from.

Second- If "the market" is all knowing and all divine AND any government interference upset this brutally efficient mechanism WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO ESTABLISH A FREAKIN' NATIONAL LANGUAGE? The McDonald's I was in this morning had a white girl who couldn't understand my simple order, a manager talking to the women cooking in Spanish, and a sign on the door that said "Thank You | Gracias". Do they hate McDonald's? What's next everyone at Walmart has to speak English (we might just see the stores become MORE of a mess)? The drubbing I have been receiving for the last 25 years about how capitalism is supported by the Constitution doesn't seem to apply all of a sudden.

GOOD NEWS- Jennifer Wilbanks "The Runaway Bride" has busted loose of the compound and the wedding is off again. Right on time for the hot steamy Georgia summer (fans self).

Gen. "I do not age" Hayden is making up his own laws right in front of everyone and we now know that the NSA is tapping reporters phones to track who might dare be leaking information to them.

Bush cut 10,000 border patrolmen out of the budget in 2005.

and Elliott got the boot.

My wife is sick- The Cable went out last night- and we have ants.

Oh and it appears that Judy Miller was fully aware of 9/11 BEFORE it happened but sat on it because the story might get bigger. Is there anything she touches that doesn't turn to death and destruction?

1. I can help with the ants
Where are they? If in the kitchen/bathroom, they are likely looking for food/water, food being sweet stuff. If you are seeing them outside, check under your welcome mat and clean away any mulch/leaves from near your house (ants love to live in it) and trim away bushes that have branches touching your house.

Then go to a health food store and buy some food grade diatemaceous earth. This is ground up fossilized seashells, and looks like talcum powder. Microscopically, each flake of the stuff has a sharp edge; ants crawl over it, cut their exoskeletons and dry up. If you get food grade, you don't have to worry about kids/pets ingesting it. Dump the stuff on any ants you see moving around. It will keep on working as long as it is there, and won't hurt your lawn or garden.

2. Kitchen
Sorry I already blasted the outside of the house with some horribly nasty Ortho stuff I bought last year.

I will check out this diatemaceous earth though thanks

3. You are taking the correct steps
but if the ants are pharoah ants, they actually thrive on some ant sprays! The DE will work alongside anything else you are using; since its action is physical and not chemical, it won't interfere with ant sprays.

And yes, I'm a license pest control operator.

7. I'm enjoying watching all of the DVC lowballers here on DU.
Edited on Fri May-19-06 12:34 PM by Prag
Does knocking DVC assure them a place in Heaven?

I keep hearing how the alleged facts in DVC are false... Have yet to
see an example of such. It's very hard to disprove fiction.

Granted, the rest is Fiction. But, I believe that's the section of
the book store I bought my copy in.

8. On the ants...
Non-toxic method... They sell a powder. (It's really only talc, I think)
The powder is spread around their high traffic areas and the critters
get it on themselves and rub it on others. It works it's way into their
tiny little joints and as they walk around busily doing what ants do they
proceed to grind themselves into pieces.
