Amnesty, Reagan led the way in 1986
I guess he had vision in seeing that the corportists had a low wage basis to give ultimate profits to the upper income for the foreseeable future.

He enabled the immigrant movement by his amnesty. You think the GOP will own up to that fact?

1. What we should support is full equal rights for all workers. so no
one will be exploited. and we need to support fair trade, so migration will be less of a necessity.

2. We need to do away with all borders
We live in a global economy with global outsourcing. We need to do away with borders so we can chase the best jobs.

3. Tell that to the leaders of China, India, England, France, Russia...

and a couple hundred other countries' leaders... they might disagree with the quaint notion you're suggesting.

And if the US departments are queasy about buying from Lenovo or anything outside US borders, it's their own damn fault for allowing offshoring in the first place. (I made a post on that a few days ago and it quickly sunk, surprise surprise...)

Tribalism is inevitable. Or if they are attempting to remove the borders (just think "Middle East", that ought to be sufficient), of course... in which case they will want themselves to be the leaders. Of the globalized world. Like I said. Tribalism is inevitable. When the time comes, which side will you be on?

4. My notion is far from quaint
We have a global economy, and indeed, the corporatists, are placing American corporate firms in all the countries you mention. Why should workers be limited to a certain country when nothing else is?

5. Big Corporations love your idea.
Globalization is anti-American. By definition it does not protect most American small and medium businesses nor American workers.
