Do you Support or Oppose "Guest Worker"?

It's obvious to me that all their nonsense about getting "Tough on the Border" or "Tough on the Illegals" is just cover for pushing some sort of "Guest Worker" program, that would make legal bringing in even more people from poorer countries, to live here in a second class/slave labor status, to take even more jobs that can't be shipped away.

They want to bring in even more workers from poorer countries, to take whatever jobs they can't ship away.

They want what they call a "guest worker" program, in order to be able to bring in even more people from poorer countries, and to be able to treat them as badly or worse than they are being treated now, but to be able to do it officially.

All this nonsense about getting tough on the border, or about getting tough on the "illegals", is just cover their selling of "guest worker" as the solution to the "illegals" problem.

Even though the right wing media clowns get hit down hard by a few of the less comatose Fweeperland Flavor-Aid drinkers, for pushing "guest worker", and for saying stupid insulting stuff like "These are jobs Americans won't do.", they keep on pushing it, most often now by lining up the scripted shills they call "callers" to make the sales pitch for them.

I've mentioned the solution before, fines for those that employ non-citizens, or non-green card holders.

If on the other hand there's really a shortage of people in this country, a genuine shortage of workers, then make more people citizens.

Having a class of people who are either officially, or un-officially exploitable, degrades us all.

Don't blame them.

It really should be called what it is, slavery.

The provisions should be that job must be first advertised: on the American job bank, in local papers, and with the state employment agency, the job must pay equal to or greater than the average national wage for that sort of work, American workers would be given preference and any qualification requirements would be equal or less than the foreign worker, the foreign workers would be allowed to join any sort of union that would be at that place of business, perhaps a county unemployment requirement also (example less than 5% unemployment) and that the workers have a background check. Any business who violated these rules would receive harsh penalties since there would be no excuse to break the law.
Regardless, I know that the workers will be at a disadvantage because they cannot easily switch jobs, but this would provide better regulation than what we have now.

Anybody that works is not a "guest", but a contributing member of society.

But, even if not, it would probably beat the hell out of what the immigrants face now.

I'll gladly pay an extra 10cents a pound for tomatoes. We don't need a guest worker program. We need to enforce the employment laws that are already on the books.
