Reading Chomsky's "Failed States" and am wondering...
Is there any way we can force international and domestic law to be carried out?

It just occured to me that these people up top have committed enough crimes to be arrested -- that they've clearly broken the law as is evident to any good lawyer.

So how can we get the law to be carried out or does it just not apply to the Attorney General, Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, President, etc?

and it's not pretty: "force".

Law is just the lever for those with the power to enforce their will. That's why many say there is no international law. The same really goes for domestic, criminal and civil, law. We just tend not to recognize that the enforcement of law is the exercise of power, with the veneer of an the exercise of an ideal.

So "we" may gain some leverage by electing Democrats to Congress this year, but the truth is that most high-level politicians have immunity to crimes other than apostasy.
