I want to say that I apologize... then say that I don't really mean it... because this may be long. I am Fucking fed up...and again I apologize for my language...and again I don't really mean it. If my language offends you... your too fucking simple to understand the rest of what I have to say.

Last night I was laying in bed thinking about when I was a child, ....particulary about school. School would start with the ringing of a bell, classes would change with the ringing of a bell, ... recess, ringing of a bell, lunch, ringing of a bell,...time to go home... ringing of a bell. In between the ringing of the bells we were taught how this was the greatest country in the world, how it was blessed by god, and yeah I did not capitalize god and I did capitalize I, thats my right....we were taught that we were all created equal... that we could all become the president if we worked hard and tried and that was because we were born into the greatest nation in the world. We were the only really FREE people in the world. In sunday school we were taught to moral... so that we valued the values that those who taught us between the ringing of the bells wanted us to value. It was not until recently that I realized that the education we were receiving was all designed to teach us how to work for the people the only people who matter in this the greatest nation blessed by god... the super rich. We were being taught to work for them to appreciate it, to be on time, why we should work for them and that if we did we could achieve anything... because we were Americans, we were FREE and we were BLESSED by god. FUCKING KISS MY ASS. I am now 38 years old and I now say FUCKING KISS MY ASS.

I just retired from the National Guard. I joined when I was seventeen years old. I was young and impressionable when I joined. I knew that I had great uncles who served in World War II. I knew that they both received the Bronze Star and Purple hearts. I knew they stormed the beaches of Normandy.. Utah... and Omaha. I thought then that they did it to protect our FREEDOM as I was taught during the time between the ringing of the bells. It was not until recently that I learned that both of them were only interested in surviving to return to the miserable poverty that they were taken from to fight the war. One of them told me that he did not mind being drafted for the war. He said he had never ate as much and as good and had worked much harder before being taken for the war. I did not know until recently that our presidents, and thats right I did not capitalize it, ...fuck the maggot, grandfather was selling to the same people who were shooting at my uncles on those beaches. I did not know that is how his family got to be the people that we are taught to work for. I did not know that the people at the top of our country were so Fucking ruthless that they would do anything for a dollar to include starving the rest of us, turning the rest of us against the rest of us to keep us from turning on them... all so they can continue to shop in different places that we can't, live in places were not allowed and can stay home and rake in the money from the wars they start and send the rest of us to fight. FUCK EM, FUCK EM, FUCK EM. I am tired of working for them, I am tired of being their servant. I am not any less smart, any less ambitious and certainly not any less moral than any of them Jesus Sucking Fucking Assholes. So Fuck Em.

I do not care what everyone else does. I am tired of their bells, tired of their lies, tired of their morals and their god. I do not hate my fellow man who is less fortunate than I. I do not want to be the president and know that I can not be under the current system. Hell I could not be the Sheriff of my county under our current system because both the guys running have a lot more money from ruling the people who learned to answer to the bells than I do. But I am tired of hearing the shit, tired of the lie of our system, tired of the fact that our government has been sold to the super rich and tired of their rhetoric. If Rush Limbaugh will get in a ring with me on a Reality Show for three minutes, I will do it for free. I have had enough. FUCK EM.

One need look no further than the half dozen or so wedge issues the cons will use in the next year or two. Gay marriage, immigration, flag burning, abortion, etc. All designed to keep people from concentrating on the money that's being systematically removed from their pockets and the crimes being perpetrated by those in power.

for verbalizing what I've been feeling. I am in grad school and am a History Teacher's assistant. Normally I work in undergraduate classes and I can't tell you how programmed my students are. I can't tell you how many times my students question my politics as if there is something wrong with me, because the only thing they know is what their daddy or pastor told them.

It sounds as if your students are just coming into the real world, after having been sequestered in the parallel universe so carefully constructed to blunt their ability to think, or even to believe the evidence in front of their very eyes.

You are in a very good position to introduce them to the world that has been hidden from them all these years. By asking them "Why do you think that... what is your evidence?" you may be able to start those creaky little, under used brains.

and I think you're right. Hopefully, I'll be able to make a difference...it's funny though, at the university I TA at (and will teach at soon), we're not supposed to talk about our politics with students. Isn't that a riot?

I completely understand your emotions. Even though I have not been in the service, I am angry about the same things you are. I thought one of our best points was about how those in power work to make sure we turn on each other, rather than on them. That IS what they do, and then they sit back at their fancy dinners, drink their expensive champagne, and stuff their faces with expensive food, and laugh their heads off at us, the lowly who live under their feet. Sometimes righteous anger is the BEST emotion, because that is what can fuel our fight against them, what can unite us and give us the power to stand up against them.

I don't know how to reach them. I think Stephen Colberts approach is the only thing that works, agree with them and let the absurdity of what they are saying bounce back and forth in their heads until it rings a bell...I think thats really effective.

I have always had a sort of prejudice towards rich people, my mom tells me that it's wrong since there are some rich people who have worked hard at it. I don't know if she is right or not as I feel that those who have money and power often use it for their own gains.

Thanks for all the comments. I really had something to say and I am glad that people can identify with what I had to say, there is much more to be said and much more to be done and I know that there are a lot of people who read the stuff on here that really matters who are willing to make things happen that will mean something.

I teach 5th grade, and sometimes i get so caught up in getting the kids to LISTEN and OBEY that I lose sight of what i really should be teaching them - and it sure as hell isn't obedience.

I had thought I was so liberal & knew everything that was wrong with America, but I really didn't know everything until the neocons came in & wrecked my country. Now, I am incredibly disillusioned. America really is no better than any other country. We are not so "special". The neocons had better watch out because a disillusioned populace is a dangerous one. Our system depends on having an underclass. I didn`t realize this until I started paying attention to what happened... who got drafted and who escaped it... during the Vietnam War. The system also depends on the underclass being so used up trying to survive that they`ll have no energy left to organize. The only way the system can continue to function as it does is if the people allow it to.
