Kos Diary NAILS it wrt to the press whining about being mistreated....

EDIT: Sheesh - I effin give up today... This was supposed to be added onto an old thread, not started in a new one... I'm outta here all. The diary IS good tho - I heartily recommend it:

" So now, only 4 years late to the game, the press is crying that they feel violated by Dear Leader and his voyeuristic tendencies. At least that is what Brian Ross, Chief Investigative Correspondent for ABC is now saying, when he went on CNN's "Reliable Sources" and whined about being spied on by the Bushistas:

t makes me feel, in a way -- and this is, I think, the disturbing part -- as if we are drug dealers or terrorists trying to traffic in information, and should we be using bags full of quarters like old Mafia capos to avoid having our phone calls traced? I don't think I'm doing anything wrong; I don't think any other reporter is, either. We're trying to cover these stories, which are difficult, but which are very important.

Yeah, well whaddaya know, Brian - you and your press cohorts have allowed this situation to get to this point, and have been ignoring, nay, pissing on We the People, for four years now. And NOW you want to call bullshit - when you are finally impacted?

Too little, too late, Brian. I don't want to hear it."

1. MSM and Bush
Indeed, if the Mainstream Media had been doing their jobs properly Bush would never have gotten elected Governor of Texas, much less President.

Did they think they were going to be better off because of their dereliction of duty? Well, they clearly are not.

But we the people are not better off either.

OK, we have every right to be angry at the press for not doing their jobs.

But we still have to try to create the political atmosphere in which they CAN do their jobs.

4. Totally. This is as much the stupid, illiterate, bigoted....
electorate's fault as it is the media's... they fed off each other while dragging us down this dark hole.

2. The military DELIBERATELY targeted and murdered reporters in Baghdad...
Edited on Sun May-21-06 09:38 PM by Yollam
If you weren't "embedded" (IE a propaganda-spewing steographer) during the invasion, you were fair game

...and everyone in the press knew it, and yet they said NOTHING. And now they're up in arms over a little eavesdropping? WTF?

ON EDIT: I Should add that it is my personal belief (no evidence of course) that they targeted those hotel rooms on direct orders from Rummy & co. Never doubted it for a second.

5. The US *TOLD* a BBC reporter so much
prior to the invasion, that any reporter that was not embedded would be a military target.

Caused a lot of shock at the time, and seems to have slipped down the memory hole

3. They've been pissing on "We the People" for more than 4 years
At least 5 1/2 now, since Nov. of 2000... but, the reality is they've been doing it since Prescott Bush helped the Nazis in WW2.

6. the attacks on Clinton were pissing on the people, too
So the press has been pissing on the people since Poppy Bush was run out of office by Bill Clinton.

Isn't that about the size of it?

Didn't they participate in the hunting of the Clintons? Some call that an attempted coup. Weren't the members of the press complicit, largely?

And what about election 2000? Didn't the press cooperate in the attempted destruction of Al Gore?

Aghhh!! Goddam!
