Senator Dick Durbin got in big trouble and had to apologize for even suggesting this notion. Many will say that if you use the very word "Nazi" in a sentence, you've automatically lost the argument.

But the accounts from the soldiers themselves, one particularly harrowing one just released and available here, are right out of Gestapo and SS history.

Many of the soldiers, used by the neocons like chess pieces, are expressing their feelings of betrayal and guilt. They say they thought they were going to Iraq to liberate people, and discovered that their real mission was to terrorize and slaughter hundreds of thousands of them with great prejudice.

Can you imagine your own son participating in waking up a family at 4 a.m. and terrorizing them for an hour, sexually intimidating wives and daughters, shooting children in the head, torturing and murdering 30 to 40 sleeping innocents a night?

Can you imagine if your son or daughter were drafted, or YOU, and realize that they would be expected to do this sort of thing? All for Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld and the mighty Bush Clan?

One can always yell, "I support the troops", but it rings hollow when the troops are storm troopers from hell, sent by madmen, madmen that no one can reason with or stop.

How can I possibly support this shit? I didn't then and I don't now.

This soldier was originally a CO, going through all the appeals, then he became a draft dodger, keeping the Dept. of Justice informed of his whereabouts at all times. Then he was visited by the FBI once before being picked up the 2nd time, thrown in jail for a few weeks for extradition back to his home state. He agreed to serve in the Army and wanted to do any duty other than carry a gun and kill people. But the army as we know it would not agree to that. He was assigned to be a foot soldier and go to Viet Nam.

Sadly, it seems the Marines have committed a terrible atrocity, but even as your post states.

The Haditha video evidence, shot be an Iraqi film student, showed the aftermath of the murders in Haditha.

This war has been a propaganda war from the outset and while I personally know of incidents which have been faked to implicate US forces and to then be videotaped, as I said this incident seems to be a atrocity.
