Censure Jimmy Carter???
Edited on Mon May-22-06 12:03 PM by VolcanoJen
On Edit: I see this topic is already under discussion, here:

Sorry. :-)

Has anyone seen this ridiculous television ad?

In the ad, the voiceover praises President Bush for wiretapping terrorists (they flash a huge picture of Bin Laden), and then they lash out at Democrats (I guess Russ Feingold) for wishing to censure the President.

Then... they change the subject. "If the Democrats really cared about this country, they'd censure former President Jimmy Carter. Carter has travelled to North Korea, he has emboldened Fidel Castro, and has shown his support for Yassar Arafat and the terrorist organization Hamas." The voiceover is accompanied by ominous photos of the respective leaders referred to.

The ad ends by saying, "Urge the Democrats to care about America... visit www.CensureCarter.org."

If your stomach can handle it, the website is hosting the ad.

Aren't these assholes really grasping at straws, here? I'm pretty infuriated after watching that ad (it was on CNN).

To repair what's left of America's image after the Bush regime has done its best to ruin it.

You're right. The Clenis plays golf with Poppy. The Clenis is no longer Enemy #1.

New target? A one-term president who has since become the country's greatest and most honorable ex-president.

These people have no shame. None. Not even an ounce.

20. Perfect timing.. Who has superb election monitoring credentials?
Carter..

We have an election coming in a few months.. This election will be just like '00, '02 & '04.

Carter usually is the "go-to" guy when the press wants explanations of dirty elections..

Undermine him before the election, so the press will be "askeered" to ask that commie traitor.. :puke:

Another day...another Swift Vote Liars for Bush attack..

Rove is still a busy little creep.

28. Your analysis is pretty sound..
Carter is also a senior democratic statesmen with a fair amount of pull of his own. The Bush family doesn't like competition - they prefer ring-kissing Democrats. This hits two birds with one stone.

25. Move America Forward, the Rethug 527 group : Who are they?
Edited on Mon May-22-06 12:47 PM by flpoljunkie

Move America Forward
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Move America Forward is a controversial, conservative political action group based in the U.S. state of California. Through media-saturation campaigns that include television and radio commercials, lobbying politicians at the local, state and federal levels, and by encouraging grass-roots activism, Move America Forward has sought to advance a conservative agenda that includes the removal of the United Nations headquarters from the United States, the recalling of state governors it deems too "liberal," restricting what it terms "liberal" or "activist" media, the closing of the U.S.-Mexico border and the deportation of illegal aliens back to their country of origin, opposition of liberal political candidates and political action groups, and advocacy for conservative political candidates and appointees. Move America Forward vocally supports and advocates for the policies of the Bush Administration.

Move America Forward was established in May 2004 by former Republican assemblyman Howard Kaloogian and Melanie Morgan, a talk show host at KSFO 560 AM, both of whom now serve as Move America Forward's co-chairmen. Move America Forward's website was paid for and run by Russo Marsh & Rogers,<1> a Sacramento-based political public relations firm with strong ties to the Republican Party. Sal Russo, a principal in Russo Marsh & Rogers, served as advisor for the "Recall Grey Davis" campaign and serves currently as "Chief Strategist" with Move America Forward. Russo also worked on the political campaigns of Ronald Reagan, Alfonse M. D'Amato, George Pataki, Jack Kemp, and Orrin Hatch.

Prominent Move America Forward campaigns have included lobbying and various media advertisements calling for the recall of former California governor Gray Davis, restricting the distribution of the Michael Moore film Fahrenheit 911, the closing of the US-Mexico border (the MAF's “Secure Our Borders” campaign) and the ending of amnesty programs to illegal immigrants (through nomoreamnesty.com), and its recent support of John R. Bolton, an outspoken critic of the United Nations, to serve as the US representative to the United Nations. In August 2005, Move America Forward sponsored a "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour to counter Cindy Sheehan's protest at President Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch (and the vigils in support of Sheehan that were held around the country).

CBS refused to sell ad time to MoveOn and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals during the Super Bowl because the network claimed it did not accept advocacy advertising. Democracy Now! broadcasts the banned ad and a few others and hears from MoveOn's campaign director.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The New England Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers yesterday in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Millions of people around the country gathered to watch the game and see the halftime ads that feature some of the most expensive airtime of the year.

But there were two ads that nobody got to see.

CBS - which was broadcasting the Super Bowl - refused to sell ad time to two organizations: MoveOn and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals because the network claimed it did not accept advocacy advertising.

MoveOn recently held a contest called "Bush in 30 Seconds" that asked for filmmakers to make a 30-second anti-Bush ad. More than 1100 videos were submitted. MoveOn planned to show the winning ad during the Super Bowl. PETA was planning to broadcast an ad that charged eating meat can cause impotence.

The MoveOn winner was an 18-second piece called "Child's Pay," protesting the Bush administration's creation of massive deficits while cutting taxes for the nation's wealthiest people and institutions.
