Thank you, Ed Helms!

Literally the first time I've smiled -- ney, LAUGHED OUT LOUD! -- all day!

First, in reference to Mrs. Alito's crying...because of a tragic laundry accident, she was forced to show up to the hearings wearing her grandmother's couch!

But today she wore a fresh look that says "Xanax and Talbots."

PERFECT!

Not the Xanax, though.

Anyway, I smiled when I heard him because I had already realized why I liked her outfit. It looks like something I would wear.

Anyway, patterns and complex textures just don't show up well on TV. They may look great in person, but they're not mediagenic. Solid colors are best. Simple lines are best.

Guys only have to worry about their tie (I know, I'm over-simplifying) but women have a complex set of wardrobe components to put together.
