Who pays the fine for illegal aliens in our military?

I wonder who is responsible and who pays the fines. Can they get direct deposit in Mexican banks?

1. I wondered about this
I had heard many 'illegal' immigrants were serving in OUR armed forces. So if BU**SH** had pushed for fines for those that hire them, the army would be likely have been subject to fines.
This is so sad and hypocritical- you can die for 'your' country but still not allowed to become a citizen.

2. Hilarious
Not to mention passing security clearances and back ground checks.

Any chance of this actually being true

4. A soldiers "serial number" has been...
his social security number for decades. There are background checks done.

I am from Mexico and served in the Army, but I was already a citizen when I enlisted. My ex-wife enlisted when she was only a resident alien and became a citizen after her discharge.

As far as I know, being a citizen is not a requirement for service, but illegals are not allowed to serve.

The "unkown" status could mean a number of things. Their status had to have been know (as far as legal or illegal) when they enlisted.

5. Indeed, you don't have to be a U.S. citizen to serve
You only need to have permission to work in the U.S. and thus be here legally (I almost joined the Army; I would have been a linguist).

6. The desperate recruiters who signed them up?
That website has a special section on joining the military. As a 100% American, why don't you do your duty to protect the purity of our military?
