Why I would vote for Lamont in the primaries
but for the nominee, who I think will be Lieberman, in the general election.

Lieberman is a problem. He repeats the Republican line. His ridiculous position in regards to criticism of Bush after wanting to censure Clinton does incalculable harm to our party. Lamont would stop us from hearing talk show Joe.

But Lieberman does vote for Senate leadership. That would make Byrd chair of any committee he wishes, Kennedy next in line, Leahy chair of judiciary, Biden of foreign relations, Feingold would get an important subcommittee, Levin would get defense and on and on. A vote for Lieberman is a vote for all of that.

I hope Lieberman goes down but he likely won't.

1. The key is 51 votes....As soon as we get 52 we can afford to get picky
Until then, I'd do just like you-vote progressive in the primary and Democratic is the general election. It really is worth it to get back the subpoena power.
