Not Jeb.

Not John.

No, no, no.

It will be Mitt 'Plastic Ken Doll Tongue Up Anyone's Azz for Power' Romney. Governor of Massachusetts.

He went to Iraq this week. They are grooming him. He spends over HALF of his time out of the state on photo ops and propaganda events.

Mark my words. Romeny. The reason:

He is the PERFECT replacement for Bush. He has no ethics. He does not care one wit about people. He will go along with WHATEVER the corporate puppeteers want him to do or say (and that is what it is about, right?). He just signed in a brand new health insurance mandatory law in MA (a HORRIBLE bill that is nothing but another gift to the insurance industry). Plus, he can tote that he is a MODERATE since he was elected governor of the most liberal state in the nation (TOTAL LIE, HE IS A NEO-CON SELL OUT).

Always remember, they just want a front man who they can tell what to do. They found their man in Mitt.

Watch.

1. You won't get a protest from me.
I've been thinking that for awhile now - he's perfect for what they need. :hi:

3. and he knows how to vacation from his current job so
He will be able to vacation from that one too. Barely notice a change at all except Romney takes better photo's.

I have been pleased that he has been out of the state as much as he has. It minimizes the damage he has done somewhat.

7. Dead on, right.

It will be the EXACT same thing as now. They couldn't find a better pick. Vapid, narcassitic, superficial....

Gross.

(I can't wait until he is gone next January!)

How are right-wing conservatives responding to him?

5. Well, good...
and I'll tell you why. I give the American people enough credit for seeing through this bullshit. We have gone down the crapper with this empty suit of a man in the White House and I think the American people are sick of it. I truly believe that in 2008 Americans are going to look to a Statesman, a man who is a thinker, and a man capable of leading and decision making. Maybe he might be a guy who wins an Oscar for best documentary.

6. If we have an honest election, a dem will win

But, since we have had TWO stolen Presidential elections, I doubt it.

9. I, too, have been more than half convinced this will be the
case.
Mitt is an intelligent man, with a towering arrogance that he actually tries to conceal, mostly.
His astounding hubris, mind numbing arrogance and absolute dearth of conscience seem to make him little more than a smart version of il Dunce.
These opinions, of course, are worth no more than the paper they're not written on, as I am not one of his sycophants or state associates and have reached said conclusions by observation from the foreign vantage point of deep rural Illinois.

12. Unh-uh.
Sam Brownback (R-Kansas).

Romney's not hot enough for the GOP theocrats -- and some of them consider Mormons stone heretics. If they stay home, then the GOP loses, a la '96.

If a candidate doesn't look like he's going to bring the Republic of Gilead a little closer, he's dead.

Brownback's got a chance to both turn out the Talibornagain and peel away a key few per cent of the Catholic vote.

But his foolish terra alerts and incompetence at DHS quashed that idea.

16. Will the religious right embrace a Mormon?
I've heard more than one "Christian" refer to Mormons as cult members. Do we think that Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson can put that aside. Much less the Southern Baptist Convention, etc?
His religion may be as much as problem for him as some of Guiliani's stances. But it would not surprise me for him to renounce his Mormon background in an effort to teabag the right-wing money of the GOP.

17. The religion issue
Edited on Thu May-25-06 08:59 PM by Jim Lane
Many of the evangelicals may be unwilling to support Romney because he's a Mormon. So, at least, says Robert Novak in .

Does Novak have a good read on the religious prejudice among the theocratic Republicans, or is he out to do a hatchet job on Romney to bolster some other candidate's chances? Who knows, but either way, it's fun to watch the RWers throwing mud at each other.

On edit: It's not just Novak saying this, so maybe there's something to it. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/features/2005/0509.sullivan1.html

18. You might be right that he'll be the nominee
because he hasn't the kind of track record that Jebbie has, stinking up the whole country with grandstanding over dead women with feeding tubes.

Babs will be disappointed, though. She thinks Jebbie is entitled to the imperial throne.
