Is this link acceptable for GD? And if not why not?.

For my 10 cents worth this is a great story by a reporter with a great deal more credibility than most of what passes for news these days. If DU kowtows to the shills who demand that everything that seems a bit whacky ought not to be reported at all (for fear of making us look wacky) then you are giving in to the GOP news deceit machine.

This is precisely the same argument that Pelosi has bought over discussion of impeachment - to all of our disgust. Namely that if we discuss it we will somehow alienate the moderates. Frankly in my opinion the moderates are now on our side.

The truth about the US governmental system is that it is riven with corruption - and most Americans now seem to know this.

The truth about the CIA is that it is a) unaccountable and b) now legally impossible to make it accountable. The CIA has permanent budgetary authority that makes it legal for it to own assets and conduct operations which are not reported to anyone. It has had this authority for 50 years.

This story linked at the top reports on a smoking gun in which the CIA seems to have been caught - in flagrante delicto- in the act of smuggling drugs. This is not new. It is not rocket science.. that is what IRAN CONTRA WAS ALL ABOUT. THE CIA HAS A HISTORY OF SMUGGLING DRUGS AND LOTS OF US ALREADY KNOW THIS.

Therefore... I request that the mods not lock or kill this thread until there is first up a debate on whether it is appropriate.

I request that it be considered a thread on the subject of DU censorship rather than related to the link it contains.

Summary decisions on censorship within this forum have the unfortunate consequence of making DU look all too similar to the freeper republic.

FINALLY TO OPEN THE DEBATE - IN DEFENCE OF MADCOWPROD.COM - Unlike some banned websites - i.e. alex jones infowars - this website has not been - as far as I know - previously been debunked on DU as being the source of unresearched hoax material. The author is a professional journalist and author. The material in it is meticulously researched and the details including sources are cited for everybody to see. Moreover - and this may interest the shills who are inclined to stick this in the 911 conspiracy corner - the author of this article agrees that the bulk of the material in the 911 sphere is nonsense, and in fact deliberate misinformation. I.E. he is himself a 911 conspiracy skeptic just like many of you.
