Faculty's Chilly Welcome for Ex-Pentagon Official (Doug Feith)
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/05/25/education/25georgetown.html

Douglas J. Feith's table at the Georgetown University faculty club is shaping up as a lonely one.

The move to a teaching position at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown by Mr. Feith, a former Pentagon official, set off a faculty kerfuffle, with 72 professors, administrators and graduate students signing a letter of protest, some going as far as to accuse him of war crimes.

Some critics complain about the process. (He was hired without a faculty vote.)

Some complain about the war in Iraq. (Mr. Feith has been accused of promoting it with skewed intelligence.)

All say the open protest is unusual at a place that embraces former officials as part of its panache. A former secretary of state, Madeleine K. Albright; a former national security adviser, Anthony Lake; and a former director of central intelligence, George J. Tenet, have joined the faculty without event.

1. He belongs in prison, not in a position to poison, corrupt young minds
We don't need more Dick Cheneys and GWBs coming out of America's universities.

2. Feith is a lunatic. He should be studied.
"Days after 9/11, a senior Pentagon official lamented the lack of good targets in Afghanistan and proposed instead U.S. military attacks in South America or Southeast Asia as "a surprise to the terrorists," according to a footnote in the recent 9/11 Commission Report. The unsigned top-secret memo, which the panel's report said appears to have been written by Defense Under Secretary Douglas Feith, is one of several Pentagon documents uncovered by the commission which advance unorthodox ideas for the war on terror. The memo suggested "hitting targets outside the Middle East in the initial offensive" or a "non-Al Qaeda target like Iraq," the panel's report states. U.S. attacks in Latin America and Southeast Asia were portrayed as a way to catch the terrorists off guard when they were expecting an assault on Afghanistan."

4. Douglas Feith
may have elbowed his way in, but let's see what happens over the next few months.

Watch when the faculty "accidentally" forgets to invite Feith to the Staff Potluck....the Staff Picnic this summer, Easter Egg hunt for the kids, summer get-together with friends.

Next, let's see how his classes shape up. Did he really think it was going to be that easy? Watch students boycott him....maybe 3 people sign up for one of his classes.

Or, Feith gets some real ornery students who criticize him, raise their hands up and interrupt him constantly.

YOU CAN WIN THE BATTLE BUT YOU CAN LOSE THE WAR.

Important advice for you, Mr. Feith.

6. The truth about Feith's involvement
in the illegal invasion of Iraq should be shouted from the rooftops. The average person doesn't even realize that the members of the this insidious group of men have been directing our foreign policies.
