2. When I see Schneider posts I think of him smearing Dean on CNN
overandoverandoveroverandoverandover ad nauseum.
He had that angry zealot look.
A moderator on another site corrected a post I made about that crap, saying Schneider was a rational centrist and I misread him.
DOH!

3. Media whores online used to refer to him as "AEI's potted plant"
which still makes me giggle, oh how i miss MWO.

4. Schneider lost me long ago after he compared the 2004 Dem presidential
candidates to show dogs.

I didn't see that photo there when I looked for it last time. Another photo turned up in this old thread-

8. Definitely two different guys -- Explanation needed!
Did the AEI "disguise" the identity of one of their fellows with a bogus photo?

13. Look at the thread again
Because CNN Bill Schneider is in it with a link to his AEI bio. There may well be another Wm Schneider who is a PNAC guy as well.

9. But he might be excellent as a poker opponent.
I love watching schneider's face when he's on camera. He is helpless with it. He cannot help telecasting his true feelings in his so-called "objective" analysis (yeah, SUUUUUUUUUUURE). I will still treasure the experience I savored - watching him report on libby's recent sing-a-long, nailing bush for approving the leakworks. He looked like everybody he loved had just died. As sober as an undertaker. Whereas, when the Dems aren't doing well or there's the most remote excuse for "good news" for republi-CONS, just watch that impish grin, the twinkle in the eyes and the merry little crinkle at their outer edges. You can ALWAYS tell how he feels, personally, about what he's spinning. Lord it was a delight to watch him try to agonize gracefully over libby's songbird act. He was visibly - rather profoundly shaken and upset by this, and what you could tell he dreading about its ramifications. It was beautiful! He didn't even look like himself. He's ridiculously transparent. Gee, bill, nobody could EVER tell that YOU had any agenda...

11. A CNN bio from 1996 indicates it's the same guy
I have seen this topic many times and thought it was proven to be a different Schneider. But look at this old link: http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/1996/analysis/bios/frames/cnn/schneider.html

"Schneider is a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., and a contributing editor to The Los Angeles Times, National Journal and The Atlantic Monthly. He recently held the O'Neill Visiting Professorship of American Politics at Boston College, a post named after the late Thomas P. O'Neill Jr., speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives."

12. It IS the same guy.
But, he's one of CNN's most balanced analysts/reporters, which says a lot about CNN.

Sure, Schneider will ever so often frame things positively for Bush et al. But, it's to a lesser extent than we're used to from CNN's countless whores. He really does try to be (or at least appear) fair, which I can't say about Zahn, Crowley, etc.
