HAT TIP TO SOLOMON!!!
I read this post yesterday...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=1279194

thought the approach was excellent - little did I know I would have the opportunity to try it myself sooo soon

the discussion with a sub-contractor at work started out by talking about Kenny-boy

from there it went to the energy/gas prices

the sub-contractor blustered about how it was the Democrats fault / Clinton's fault (the usual rush-dittohead blather)

I pointed out that Clinton wasn't in the White House anymore - and asked why bush wasn't doing anything about it?

he said - the president can't do anything about gas prices.

me: then if bush - as president - can't do anything about it - how can you blame Clinton for the problem - by your logic, Clinton couldn't do anything about it either

Sub-contractor: well, the democrats aren't fixing the problem

me: the democrats aren't in charge - the White House, the House of Representatives, the Senate, the Cabinet are all controlled by Republicans and have been for the past 5 years. The democrats are in the minority and have no power to set the agenda - and when they try to introduce legislation to address problems - the republican leadership either prevents the legislation from reaching the floor or goes on a smear campaign.

so how are democrats suppose to fix things when they aren't allowed to speak?

he looked thoughtful for a few moments, a lightbulb went off and he said "well...you might be right on that point...."

The Blaming the world's problems on Clenis worked the first year or two Bush was in office, BUT it is year FIVE that just isn't ringing true to more and more ppl these days IMHO.

3. Heh heh! You know what kills me is not only do they have the power
to do what they want, but they are actually doing everything they want to do.

They go to war when the whole world marches against it.

They bug your phones. They violate the constitution.

They shoot people in the face and tell you to "go **** yourself".

But somehow it's always the democrats fault when things don't go right.

When it's something that they do that they know average Joe six-pack doesn't like, they send out the propagandists to make it appear that the democrats are to blame.

I was watching a documentary on Paul Goebels the other night. I found it fascinating that Goebbels admitted and even bragged about it in all his speeches that what he was doing was propaganda. He was totally open and honest about the fact that he was conducting propaganda.

Today if you say these assholes are doing propaganda they want to argue with you. They won't admit that it's propaganda. Now, I ask you, what is more insidious?
